The Lodge Griddle & Grill serves a variety of mouth-watering dishes with sizzlers, steaks, ribs and grills with a few pub favourites thrown in the mix. An independent restaurant owned by Gavin & Victoria Hunt, The Lodge is situated out of town on the old A47 with easy parking and a large beer garden.

The Lodge is your ideal wedding venue in Norfolk. With a warm, traditional feel, The Lodge offers unsurpassed food and service. Set in rural surroundings off the A47 between Dereham and Norwich in the heart of Norfolk, it is within easy reach of major roads in and around Norfolk. There is plenty of free parking and a large outdoor space for summer occasions and celebrations.
Rustic yet exceptionally stylish, The Lodge is easily accessible (just off the A47 between Dereham and Norwich) with plenty of parking, and offers a wonderful out-of-town alternative for your clients or colleagues. A 19th Century Public House, from the outside The Lodge has all the character of a traditional, rural hostelry, including inspiring views and an enclosed garden.
We still allow in store shopping (1 household at a time) but we will be operating a locked door policy. Please ring the doorbell or call 01362 638466 on arrival and we will gladly unlock the door. Hand sanitiser will be insisted upon on entry and don't forget your mask (unless exempt) We have screens at our counter and you can 'check in' to the shop on the NHS app, the QR Code is displayed at the door.

Decidedly average. Met up with family here just prior to Christmas for Sunday lunch. Lovely staff but food can only be described as average. Sunday Roast was ok but missing too many components to be classed as good. Deserts were Plain bizarre with the weirdest Vanilla Cheesecake I've ever seen. With so many good pubs around, won't be making a return visit any time soon.

What a warm, efficient, charming team! We stopped by for a late lunch on an autumn weekday. Rachel S made us right at home (Covid safe too) and we enjoyed fine fish and chips and a really good lamb shank - asked for it with mushy peas, added mint sauce ….. who knew that’s a Thing? Rachel does!
And then - awesome finish - homemade red cherry pie and custard. We’d stop by again. This is a place that knows its business ….. great food, and huge thanks for all the smiles and positive vibes.

We were driving from Yorkshire to Southwold and needed a lunch stop. Thanks to Google we found The Lodge. This place is off the main road so if you don't do your research you will be missing a treat.
Lovely friendly, attentive staff and great food. We had the Nachos to start followed by a burger, these are large burgers, and beef chilli. All of which were delicious. My only complaint was that I was too full to enjoy the bread and butter pudding!

My wife and I where looking for a nice meal and stumbled across the Lodge and found it to be wonderful, quiet and really great food. I had the Lamb Shank and it was a good size, well cooked and portion size plenty filling. I wholly recommend, the atmosphere was welcoming, staff engaging and positive, really made to feel welcome and I'd definitely visit again.

We went there for lunch on n Saturday. The weather was brilliant so we all sat in the garden which is a very pleasant place to be. We made our orders via the app and direct with the staff who were very attentive and always on hand to ask if we wanted anything
There was a mistake on one of the orders, no fuss and handled with real professionalism by the staff. Order replaced immediately.
Overall the food was of a really good quality and very tasty, the Pulled Pork is very good as are the Halloumi Fries.
We will definitely be going back.

We had a lovely family meal last week, all staff were extremely pleasant and helpful. It was my mother inlaws birthday and she really fancied a cocktail (being her birthday and 1st meal out in over 10months!) they were very helpful and were able to create a cocktail just for her! They also have lovely gluten free options and werw able.to adapt most of the main menu to make I gluten free meaning one very happy little sister!

Went there during Amber Covid. Tried their vegan burger . Service was good and staff were warming but cautious ,with current pandemic. The place was clean, parking facility was good and accessibility was found good. Menus was well laid out. Quality of food was no different to other places offering vegan burgers but found it a bit over pricey. They have indoor and outdoor seating. Recommend booking a table if indoor as on the day there were none available even though the resturant appeared empty. Also tried their vegan cake with ice cream again comparable but sl pricey.

We were lucky enough to get a fairly last-minute booking last night, and I'm soooooo glad we did! My first time inside The Lodge and it's gorgeous! The staff are friendly and incredibly welcoming, covid guidelines are in place, and the meal? Wow.
The burgers were lush with plenty of cajun fries, and the desserts were just mmmmm 🥰 Amazing value for such good quality, homemade food.
As I did when I last visited, I left already looking forward to when I could next come! Thanks guys ❤ xx
