Eye care for children is often overlooked unless there is an obvious issue. Your child's formative years are when most of their visual development takes place, so it's important to identify and treat any eye sight issues as early as possible. Eye examinations are very important to ensure normal vision development and confirm that children have the vision skills required for school work and other activities.
The Optomap Retinal Exam provides a panoramic view of the back of a person's eye (retina). The view provided by the Optomap displays over 80% of the retina in one panoramic image. Thus it provides a far wider scope of your retina in much greater detail than other 'retinal camera' equipment commonly used by other high street opticians, which only capture 15% of the retina.
OCT is a new imaging technique that offer a 'high-definition' detailed cross-sectional image of the back of the eye. It works in a similar way to ultrasound and is an extremely advanced health check for people of all ages. It doesn't just scan the back of your eye, but sees under the retina to parts that cannot be seen by ordinary examination.

Honestly must admit I was pretty disappointed and unhappy with the overall experience I had here. I originally visited in December as I had issues with my eyes zooming in and out of focus. The first optician I saw said I needed a new prescription and had dry eyes causing it: which surely would be causing blurryness, not an issue with my lens focusing. I also asked about snowy vision but this was largely ignored too. After getting my new glasses, I could not see through them and had to go back. I essentially paid £70 to not have my glasses for a couple weeks and then have my original prescription

I have been going to the Cardonald branch for years. I can honestly not praise the staff enough. Graeme is my optician and I have to go for regular checkups out with the normal checks. He always takes the time to have a chat and make sure you are well. Jennifer, Stacey, Jocelyn and Mary are the girls that you meet upon entering the practise and they are all lovely. Very attentive and always up for a blether whilst maintaining a professional manner. Keep up the good work. A big thumbs up for everyone there🙂

Just thought I should take little time to write a small review to acknowledge the wonderful service and treatment I received at Browns Opticians, Cardonald. The care and courtesy throughout my treatment was exceptional, from my eye examination which was thorough and expertly carried out, through to the choosing and collecting of my glasses. I found the staff to be helpful, caring and exceedingly pleasant. Perhaps unique to Browns Opticians I received a call several weeks later to inquire if I was satisfied with my glasses, which of course I was. Many thanks for the care and consideration I received
