Services
We offer a family friendly environment for you to get away and relax in. With a travel cot and high chair available (requested at time of booking) we suit the very young to the very old. There is a ramp entrance to the property with a slight lip as you come over the threshold but apart from that we are all on one level throughout.
Take the A49 north towards Hereford. Once you get to the village of Much Birch turn left onto Tump Lane, signposted to Wormelow. Follow this road to the end and turn left towards Monmouth. As you leave Wormelow go up a hill and round a bend to the right. Old Forge Cottage is located on the right immediately after the bend.
Breakages: Accidents do happen. We do not usually charge for accidental breakages but reserve the right to do so if the breakages are excessive. Prices start from 70 per night with an increase at weekends and peak times of the year. 2 nights minimum stay. You can also request accommodation by using the contact form on the contact us page or check availability, prices and book.
Very welcoming and accommodating hosts. The cottage is full of character, warm, cosy and spotlessly clean. The little extras provided by Rowena were an added bonus after a long trip and very much appreciated. The cottage is in easy access to the main towns but has stunning rural views and good walks in the vicinity for taking the dog.
The story and life of Violette Szabo is much in evidence at the museum along with life stories of the many resistance workers who sacrificed their lives for our freedom. Visitors can learn about Ravensbruck the concentration Camp that Violette and many of her compatriots were sent to following their capture.
