Services
Having trained at Canterbury College of Art, Judy Mott has been designing couture bridal gowns since 1988. Judy initially sold her range to over twenty bridal shops in Britain and Ireland. After a couple of years she decided to concentrate on offering a truly made-to-measure couture service which she now provides through her studio in Tunbridge Wells.
During your initial appointment, you will try on a selection of beautiful silk gowns to find the shape that makes the very most of your figure. Many feature hidden corsetry that can make you look a size smaller. Judy has always designed with classic understatement using the best quality fabrics available, beautiful silks from all over the world and exquisite French lace.
The wedding of a son or daughter is one of life's big occasions and you will naturally wish to look your best. As the mother of the bride or groom, you will be one of the key figures in all the photographs and so it's important that not only do you look good but that you feel comfortable in the outfit you choose.
Alterations to Wedding Dresses, Mother of the Bride Outfits, Bridesmaids Dresses and Mother of the Groom outfits. In addition to our bespoke service we are also happy to alter dresses and outfits you have purchased elsewhere. Many people come to us through recommendation. Several local shops send clients to us knowing they will receive expert assistance based on many years of experience.
I absolutely loved getting my wedding dress from start to finish. Judy made me feel really comfortable and went through lots of ideas before combining the bits I loved from various dresses to make mine. It was really fun going to fittings and it is the most gorgeous dress I have ever worn. It felt amazing wearing it on my wedding day (although I tried it on at every opportunity once I had brought it home!)

Judy was amazing from the start to finish in making my wedding dress and my two bridesmaids dresses. Judy listened to our needs and gave great advice. We were all absolutely delighted with our dresses and didn’t want to take them off. I would highly recommend Judy and would definitely use her again but hoping I don’t have too for another wedding dress!!!! But hopefully I will have more special occasions in the future to use Judy again.

Judy very kindly altered my wedding dress. She did a wonderful job, ensuring that it was the most perfect fit - something that I was complimented on throughout the day. As well as this, Judy altered my sisters bridesmaids dresses, each with a different requirement. Appointments all felt very relaxed, and Judy was flexible with fitting each of us in. Thank you Judy!

I have always admired the dresses through the window of Judy’s workshop, and you will often see her working on the gowns so when I was planning my wedding Judy was my first choice. It was the best decision I ever made as from the moment I stepped in to try dresses Judy made me and my mum feel relaxed and very welcome. The choices of designs, fabrics and accessories were amazing however the true pleasure was being guided by Judy as to what design would best suit me, her eye for detail and that anything was possible. The whole experience from start to finish was truly exceptional.

I had to contact Judy last minute to make my wedding dress alterations after we postponed and then re-planned our wedding. Judy was amazing, I genuinely cant recommend her enough! I'll be going back next year for her to remove the train of the dress for our wedding celebration with a bigger group of friends and family.

I bought my dress at Wed2b and they do not do alterations. After reading the reviews on here, I most definitely had to contact Judy. And it was the best decision! Judy provides a great service and is a perfectionist. I am so happy with my dress and cannot wait for my big day. I saw the dresses she made in shop after purchasing my dress and they looked so amazing, so if your looking for a dress I would definitely look there first!

In 2018 Judy designed two bespoke outfits for my son’s wedding - a dress and jacket and a silk dress for the evening party. A year later, I invited her to make a lace blouse and silk skirt for a special birthday celebration.

It's stressful and frustrating for most bride-to-be to find their perfect wedding dress. Then, I met Judy - she understood what I wanted and captured my dream wedding dress that I could only articulate using a collage of different inspirations. Judy and her team are nothing short of amazing! Judy listened to what I wanted as well as making her own expert suggestions, to help create the dress of my dreams! I am a wheelchair user, so needed something that looked flattering whilst sitting down, which none of the dresses in traditional boutiques achieved. I had already been married once and Judy made my dress and all the bridesmaid dresses which were all absolutely perfect . We could not find waistcoats that matched so she made those and the cravats and ties. If she can help in any way she will.
So when I was due to get married again I was not going to go anywhere else. I really didn’t know what I wanted but with the help from Judy we came up with the most perfect dress for me.
