Reservations for the restaurant to avoid disappointment will be almost certainly be necessary. Please contact us via email on info@goldencrosshotel.co.uk to secure your booking.

Services
Michael was a retired National Hunt jockey and the couple were popular hosts, remaining at the inn for many years. Within a few months of their tenancy a problem arose when a section of the public wanted an end to the "Men Only" bar, which had been a tradition at the Golden Cross since time immemorial.
Whether you're in Shrewsbury for business, on holiday or a romantic weekend, pamper yourself by staying at the Golden Cross. Each of our bedrooms has its own unique medieval character, individually furnished with antiques and splashed with contemporary colours but with a few modest facilities to make your stay supremely comfortable.
Glistening, crunchy fruit and vegetables still drunk on the morning dew, fish with the mermaid's song barely out of their lips, the smoke of barbecues lingering long after sunset. Every summer's day brings new delights and delicious surprises from our local producers. We'll be getting the very best out of our daily forays into the market.
We've tried to make them into a celebration of edgy glamour and individuality that will be appreciated by our discerning guests. Over the centuries The Golden Cross has undergone many transformations and been, variously, sacristy, ale-house, tavern, Royalist retreat and a 19th century takeaway sausage shop!

Booked this place for our anniversary lunch after reading great reviews. Unfortunately we didn't receive the great experience that I've read about. The whole experience was average, the food was lovely but over priced for what we received. The server didn't really communicate well and had to ask for lunch menu another wise it was a la carte!! The venue it self was beautifully decorated, but not sure if we return anytime soon.
