This place is such a pleasure to be at, it has a real original feel and is a destination in itself.
Whereas most big chains in the same price range are more like a utilities, this place is a genuine original pleasure. I guess it's because it has history, they haven't whitewashed over it and made it part of a uniform chain.
The fittings are also superb, in great condition and clean.
The service is friendly, we especially liked how when we checked in late last night the reception person said he was speaking fast as he had drunk so much coffee to stay awake until 8am. It's this kind of speaking

We went to the Melody bar which is a whisky drinkers paradise. We have a couple of flights each which were really good value and allowed me to have a range of whiskys I could not find anywhere. The bar manager was knowledgeable and even gave us a free dram at the the end. Great experience!

Bad booking service. I called the hotel for almost 10 minutes, no body answer my call. Occasionaly, one guy picked up the phone, but he pretend he cannot hear me, but actually, I speak very loudly and clearly. He just didn't want to answer the phone.

Charming boutique hotel in a calm area of London. Staff is incredible. They are welcoming and helpful. Rooms are small but well appointed and clean. Bed was extremely comfortable. The bathroom was unexpectedly luxurious for a small hotel and had a large shower with good water pressure and plenty of hot water. Their restaurant, Melody, is very good as well. I would most definitely come back here.

Took my wife here for a weekend trip. Beautiful. The room was great, with a very well designed bathroom. Service was very very good. We were very impressed by the interior of the hotel as well as the stunning building itself. Definitely coming again.

Hands down the nicest boutique hotel I've ever stayed in. Stayed for one night with my fiancé while we were in London for the weekend but wished I were there longer. Beautiful, clean, cozy rooms! Wonderful amenities. Complimentary coffee, tea, still and sparkling waters. Gorgeous bathrooms with separate shower and large bathtub. Such a relaxing experience. The park like setting behind the hotel is gorgeous. I will be back!

An excellent spot to stay in London. A quiet little boutique hotel with a nice restaurant. It's a converted school master house with 18 rooms. Mine was a double, well decorated and comfortable. Continental Breakfast was included and it was done nicely. I will stay here again.
