A Modern Indian Restaurant, based in Tamworth serving cutting edge, authentic Indian cuisine with a twist. From watching my mum cook from a young age, spending most of my time in the family kitchen and working Saturday nights in a relatives restaurant from the age of 14, cooking has always been a passion, allowing Simla to be created through love and determination.
With family at the heart of the business, Simla opened to rave reviews. Inspired by the flavours experienced whilst travelling, Simla's menu showcases our love of dishes from both the royal kitchen of North India to the coastal cuisine from the Southern States, exploring Pan- Indian flavours. Favourite part of working at Simla - developing the menu and getting creative with new dishes.

It's expensive compared to most indian restaurants but it does make up for it with flavour and finesse of how the plates look. The only issues i had was the fish starter was overcooked and dry with very little sauce to help deal with the dryness (style over substance). The main was no where near spicy enough, i had Jalfezi and the member of staff said it is not as spicy as normal Jalfrezi's so i asked for extra spice and even then it was medium. If i ask for extra spice i want it spicy!! That being said, the mushroom fried rice was the best i've ever tasted

Food was lovely, albeit a little pricey.
Service was poor, sat ages with empty glass, order wine with the meal, but it didnt arrive until half way through the meal with the cork still in it, then had to wait another 10 minutes for the waiter to come back and open it. Also, when you serve a meal, dont serve over your guests, you serve from the side. If your gonna charge £100 for two currys (starters and for 4 drinks included) then you'd better get your service right. Yes, it was busy, but that's not an excuse cause you still charged me the same, so I expect the same level of service irrespective

First time trying this place tonight and was very impressed. The staff were welcoming and helpful with the everything and explained all the impressive cocktail and food options to the table. The food was up there with the best Indian food I have ever eaten. I was genuinely shocked with the quality of food and the alternatives they had availble from your usual Indian restaurant. Then to top it off the restaurant looked great with a modern quirky look to it. Would strongly recommend you give the place a try.

I came here for the first time and all of the positive reviews about this place are spot on. The staff are friendly and helpful and it’s is beautifully decorated inside creating a great atmosphere. The food is absolutely amazing, my Dad and 2 younger brothers all loved our food with not a single bad thing to say. I would highly recommend this venue to anyone looking for a good meal out.

Tried this restaurant for the first time this evening after finding it, completely by chance, online and was very pleasantly surprised.
The restaurant has a very relaxed atmosphere and inviting, stylish decor and is layed out in such a way that it doesn't feel crowded, even when busy.
The food was absolutely delicious, some of the best Indian food I've ever had, and the cocktails were also a very high standard. I had the lamb shank, which was so tender it almost fell off the bone and the sauce that it was marinated in was nothing short of amazing. My partner had the crab curry, and this dish
