Services
Over many years here at Childsplay, managers and practitioners have been working together to embed an inspiring approach to supporting young children's learning and development. This approach was founded in a small city called Reggio Emilia in Northern Italy and became renowned for how they work with young children in their Infant and Toddler Centres and Preschools.
Childsplay Claremont Nursery was established in 1982 by a small group of parents attending Newcastle University. As the nursery is a co-operative, there is a significant emphasis on the ongoing relationship which develops between parents and staff, which is important to the successful functioning of the nursery, and this brings a variety of benefits to the organisation and its users.
Childsplay Nursery in a co-operative that uses the early years foundation stage (EYFS) framework and a Reggio-Emilia inspired approach. Since 1982, Childsplay nursery has provided families with quality early years education and care.

The staff and teams caring for babies, toddlers and young children at Childsplay Nursery, Newcastle upon Tyne. Childsplay management is core to the fundamental operation of the nursery, responsible for the planning, organisation and control of the members whilst utilising resources to achieve goals.

Me and my partner work full time and has to opt for child care for three days a week.
I reached out to child's play and when she first started she was very tearful.
But now she goes regularly, Arianwen thrives and loves being around other children.
We are thrilled to see how attentive to her care everyone is, it's like she's a completely different and more confident person when she comes home!.
I highly recommend Childsplay for child minding because I know my daughter is in the safest hands.

We ave used childsplay nursery as our childcare provider for over 5 years! my children adore the staff there, and the facilities are always new, exciting and filled with fun for young curious minds. I appriciate all the work that the staff put in, helpping potty train,being patient with challenging behaviour, teaching the children literacy and numeracy, they truly do an outstanding job, the place is very clean and there is a varried and inclusive food menu. Above all you can always communicate with the staff and raise any concerns and they are very responsive.

My baby started nursery when he was 1 as i had to go back to work . I had a Look arround At all nursery in Newport and childsplay was the only one that meet my expectation: very clean and bright enviroment, friendly Staff making you to feel welcome , very good in what they do taking care of my baby very well , they notice Any small changes in your baby behaviour/body if something is not right with them .
Also when my baby had an accident At home and he burn His arm , they was able to Look after him very well and to be carefull that other baby dont hit His arm and integrate him back to play /Interact
