Amidst the ancient waterways of the Somerset Levels not far from Glastonbury, lies White Hart Barn, an English Heritage oak-framed holiday cottage, recently built on the site of the old linhay adjacent to White Hart Farm. The farm was originally the White Hart Inn, Godney's village alehouse and dates back to the 17th century.
White Hart Barn is an ideal base for families or friends eager to explore this beautiful and unique area; standing alongside the River Sheppey, they provide the perfect setting for a peaceful countryside retreat. Services
Well behaved pets are always welcomed and no charge is made for them - please ensure your pet respects the garden and barn and is not allowed to damage anything or sleep on any furniture or in the bedrooms. Please do not leave dogs alone in the property and please bring suitable bedding and towels for your pet.
The barn is detached, not overlooked and surrounded by countryside. The level terrain and expansive horizons make this an ideal area for both walkers and cyclists. The river boasts pike, chubb, roach and eel and therefore an ideal location for those guests who like to fish.
Bantams cluck around the courtyard busily working up the energy to provide you with the best eggs you have tasted and work is now underway to produce fresh organic vegetables in the field beyond the garden.

It's not easy to please a nine-year old and a teenager (and their parents) but White Hart Barn really hit the jackpot. Perfect peace and tranquillity yet only three miles from town, decent supermarkets and even an outlet shopping village. Bats at dusk, butterflies, four-leaf clover, dog-friendly, we loved the flat landscape (great for cycling) and the huge, open, star-filled skies were amazing to us townies.
