The Barn is a great holiday cottage for those who want to explore the glorious Westcountry, and is within easy reach of the Mendip and Quantock Hills, Wells, Bath, Bristol and Glastonbury. As its name suggests, the Barn wasn't always a holiday cottage. In fact it has had a long and varied history. It is thought it began life as the brew house for the church directly opposite and its hospital in the Middle Ages.

More recently it was used as a hay barn and as a builder's store. The barn was listed in 1985 by English Heritage (note the English Heritage photo was taken pre-renovation!), an acknowledgement of the barn's historical significance. The barn lay unused, unloved and derelict for many years.

Rates & Availability Report

We generally offer daily or weekly rates (Saturday 4.00pm - Saturday 10.00am) but we have let the Barn for longer periods of time in the past - please contact us for further details. A non-returnable deposit of 15% is required on booking and full payment 6 weeks in advance of your arrival date. Please use the calendar below to check the availability of the Barn.

Lovely place to stay. Highly recommended. Good central location for walking and cycling in Somerset. Good pub (with good food) just 5 min walk away.

Fantastic little gem in a Beautiful location. The Old Barn is very comfortable and just about anything you could need is provided. It has plenty of character as does the Village of Croscombe. Ann, the owner is very easy to deal with and while you are not disturbed in the property you can be assured she is available to help or give advice if required. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and are looking to go back soon.

We stayed here for a week and found it very comfortable and spacious .
The barn itself is very nice and with modern conveniences. Has a lovely walk in shower and a lovely open plan living room.
A Lovely quiet area with a short drive to Wells & Shepton Mallet.

I stayed here for Glastonbury Festival and it was fantastic. In an idyllic country village with lovely owners who looked after my every need. Would definitely recommend to anyone!

Stayed during Glastonbury several years ago. 10 min drive and you are at the main gate. Loverly conversion with large open plan upstairs and sleeping for 5. Previously used by the BBC as so handy for getting to the site. Also nicely located for other local attractions such as Wells and Glastonbury town. Highly recommended.
