A warm friendly welcome awaits you at Low Kirkbride Farm. We have two self-catering cottages; the Cheese House, a lovely cosy cottage ideal for couples and families of up to four; and the Beltie Byre, a modern spacious cottage which sleeps up to eight, perfect for families and large groups. Both cottages are open all year round and have free Wi-Fi.
Enjoy a peaceful break on our organic working farm, set amid the stunning scenery of Dumfries and Galloway. Explore the farm on our farm walk and take the opportunity to meet all the farm animals including the Belted Galloways, sheep, chickens, and horses. Between the months of March and June it is lambing time on the farm and guests are welcome to help feed the lambs.

Services
Joe and Zan Kirk welcome you to Low Kirkbride Farm, our working organic farm set amid the beautiful rolling countryside of Dumfries and Galloway. We have farmed at Low Kirkbride for 51 years, during which time the farm has changed. The Beltie Byre, where we used to milk forty Holstein Friesian cows, has been converted into a lovely spacious self-catering unit.
The Cheese House is the perfect home from home. In 2001 we converted the outbuilding where cheese used to be produced on the farm into a lovely cosy self-catering unit. The Cheese House comprises of an ensuite family room with a double bed and bunk beds, a living/dining room, a fully fitted kitchen and another bathroom.
The Beltie Byre is a lovely spacious modern steading conversion. Up until 2002, we milked forty dairy cows on the farm and converted the byre into a cottage in 2005. The cottage sleeps between one and eight people and is perfect for couples, families and large groups. A warm friendly welcome awaits you with underfloor heating and a wood/ coal burning stove.
There's lots to see and do in Dumfries and Galloway and the cottages are ideally situated for access to a variety of attractions throughout the region. We have a short farm walk which provides the opportunity to explore the farm and animals. The walk takes you around the fields and there is an opportunity to have a seat and admire the countryside at our picnic table.
We are committed to sustainability and consider how our business impacts our environment. At Low Kirkbride we constantly strive to improve our green credentials. We achieve this by attending networking events such as the Energise Your Business Event and by seeking specialist advice. Below is a summary of the current green practices adopted at Low Kirkbride Farm, any suggestions or comments for improvement are most appreciated.

There were 7 of us on this trip and The Beltie Byre was perfect for us. Downstairs, there is a huge open plan kitchen/dining room/living room and a very comfy sofa and large TV. There is also an en suite double bedroom, a family room and and a separate bathroom on this level. Upstairs there is a twin en suite bedroom and a really huge 'loft conversion' style room which has a sofa bed, a TV, comfy chairs, games etc. The layout meant that there was plenty of space for us to spread out and not get under each other's feet (always handy when it's a family group!).
