Services
Abbeyfield Ferring was considered to be 'good' in all areas: safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led. The Abbeyfield Ferring Society was founded in 1980 by the late Bill Cornwell and his wife, Joan. As a not-for-profit Registered Society, we provide very high standards of care for the older residents of Ferring and our local area.
Personal care, wellbeing, respite and domestic support for people living in Ferring, Goring-by-Sea, West Worthing and Rustington areas. Our Home Care service is fully operational and continues to support people in their own homes especially with shopping trips.

We provide care to support older people in their own homes with personal care, domestic support, companionship, respite and wellbeing services, to assist them and improve the quality of their lives. We value the independence of our clients and respect their personal choices, aiming to make every day a good day.
We pride ourselves in creating a friendly, homely atmosphere at our Ferring residential care home, Cornwell House. If you are interested, we currently have a lovely ground-floor room available and one on the first floor, both of which have views over our gardens. Our philosophy is to allow older people to retain as much of their independence as they would wish while doing so safely.
Stay Active, as the name suggests, is for people living with dementia of any age who enjoy being sociable and active. Not only does the service give carers a break but it is lively and stimulating for people with a relatively early diagnosis who like to have fun in the company of others and appreciate getting out and about.
Our Stay Social service is for people who live on their own, or with a carer, who are experiencing problems with their memory, or who have a diagnosis of dementia. There are two sessions on Mondays at 9.30am - 12.30 pm, and 1.30 pm - 4.30 pm. This is a new service funded by the National Lottery Community Fund and run in partnership with Worthing Dementia Hub.
