Services
Our homemade breakfasts are cooked fresh using locally sourced and seasonal ingredients wherever this is possible. Our Cumberland sausage, dry cured bacon and black pudding all come from Thomasons our local butchers in the town and our eggs come from Scales Farm, Embleton where the chickens roam free.
Goodwin House is tucked up on a quiet street but yet just a few minutes walk from the bustling market square with the striking Moot Hall at its centre. Regardless of how active or relaxing you want your visit to be there is plenty for everyone to do. Famous for the quality of its productions and varied range of shows.

Just got back from a lovely 2 night birthday stay at Goodwin House. This b&b is right up there amongst the best we have stayed at. Chris and Liz are lovely people and go out their way to make you feel welcome. The room (Skiddaw) was exceptionally clean and the breakfasts were fantastic. A birthday card greeted me on my first sitting. My girlfriend is celiac (gluten free) and they did everything they needed too to ensure she had options for breakfast. Even a separate GF toaster. My mum and I just got back from a 7 night stay at Goodwin house. We loved our stay here. The twin room was lovely and looks just like the pictures, including a TV as well. The beds were very comfy and its kept very clean with towels/mugs/cups changed regularly. We also had a constant top up of tea, milk and biscuits for the room. The breakfasts were great - we particularly liked the homemade granola :) Liz and Chris are great hosts - always checking we had everything we wanted and giving us guidance on the local area and places to visit.

Very good standard of accommodation, decoration, hospitality. As with several places in keswick rooms are quite small, that's the only drawback. Hosts were very accommodating of extra requests such as bike storage and very good regarding dietary requirements. Location was excellent. Check in time range is 4 to 7, checkout by 10am.

Absolutely wonderful is the only way I can some it all up. From even before you arrive Liz and Chris will reach out to you with necessary details about your check-in and also some helpful reminders for the trip. When we got there, they were very kind to help us find a parking spot right next to the B&B. They explained the rules of the stay and COVID related changes as well, breakfast timings, walk to the town, things to do, everything you could think of. Rooms were nice and cosy.
