Services
Ellas Crag offers its guests very comfortable accommodation in its three double bedrooms and spacious open plan dining and lounge area downstairs. Outside the garden stretches to 5 acres and there is a large patio, perfect for sitting out, taking in the views and observing the abundant wildlife. The night sky is stunning - on clear nights The Milky Way sparkles like a speckled band without the light pollution of a town setting.
Our three double bedrooms are quiet, comfortable and all enjoy glorious views of the Newlands Valley and surrounding fells. They are named after local fells; Causey Pike (double room with ensuite shower), Catbells (double room with ensuite bath), and Robinson (twin/double room with ensuite bath). All bedrooms have en suite facilities with quality fittings, heated towel rails, fluffy towels and locally produced toiletries.
We cook individual breakfasts to order and ask guests to make their breakfast choices the evening before. Our traditional breakfast is sourced as far as possible from good local suppliers. Our delicious sausages and bacon are supplied by R B Woodall, whose family have been producing bacon and sausages in Cumbria for eight generations.
Aside from outdoor pursuits Keswick and the surrounding towns and villages have plenty to offer its visitors. Some follow in the footsteps of Wainwright and Wordsworth, retrace some of the places beloved of Beatrix Potter and Arthur Ransome or explore the mining heritage of this part of Cumbria that stretches back some 400 years.
For many that visit the Lake District the main attraction are the hills, fells and Lakes that provide endless walking opportunities. We are fortunate to be in a location where you can be on a footpath just outside the house. Causey Pike, Barrow and Catbells, with its grassy saddle and grandstand views of Derwentwater, are all easily accessible.
