Services
Johns Gilbert & Frankton is a traditional, family-focused law firm based in the centre of Rugby in accessible offices with parking available locally.

Established in the 1940s, we provide quality-focused legal advice to families and individuals in and around Rugby and have always taken care to ensure that our services are delivered in a way that is designed to address the needs of our clients whilst at the same time remaining cost-effective and thorough.
Alan has practised in the area of Family Law since his qualification in 1983 and is a highly experienced family lawyer advising on a wide range of family issues, including divorce, financial matters on separation, cohabitee disputes, pre-nuptial agreements, and problems relating to the arrangements for children.
Johns Gilbert & Frankton offers a range of services to individuals and families. Our team of experienced lawyers is here to help you to deal with your legal requirements and to offer you advice in what can often be difficult situations.

Whether it be a matrimonial or relationship problem, moving to a new house, making a will, administering an estate or granting a power of attorney, our expert lawyers and support staff will provide you with the right advice at the right time and in a way that you will understand, and which addresses your particular needs.
We advise in relation to issues of private law relating to children, such as where they are to live and how much time they will spend with each parent. In most cases, the parents are able to agree on all relevant arrangements, but where issues arise, we can assist with correspondence and involving outside agencies and the court where necessary.
Enduring Powers of Attorney before this date may still be valid. Please contact us for our opinion. Lasting Powers of Attorney are a more detailed document. We can provide you with full details. A Power of Attorney is a document in which one person (the donor) gives another person (the donee) authority to act on his or her behalf and in his or her name.

Useless. Avoid like the plague. David Ratcliffe can't do anything quickly and will give empty promise after empty promise. No sense of urgency or attempt to resolve a situation in a reasonable time frame.

Don’t expect any support outside/after of the specific transaction you are undertaking. Look elsewhere.

Recommended by a family friend, and helped me through buying a house and made sure all the 'i's were dotted and 't's were crossed. Very helpful to an anxious first time buyer - would recommend myself.

Would have given 5 stars over past 40 years. Everyone was highly efficient, professional and helpful. Unfortunately a temporary receptionist related to a solicitor wrongly assumed I was someone else and greeted me by name and with enthusiasm. On realizing it wasn't the person she seemed to know her tone changed. I was promised on a number of occasions that the solicitor would phone me at the end of the day. He didn't. As a bereaved client I was appalled at the reception . I was loudly talked over and the phone put down on me. What a difference with my new solicitors receptionists. Sad.

Made an appointment to certify documents, had to wait 25 mins to be seen, during the time it was suggested to 'pop in' next door as they might be able to do it on the spot without an appointment.
