Elaine originally trained and worked for 12 years in graphic design & advertising, specialising in illustration and calligraphy, in addition to client account management. Before deciding in the mid 90's to focus her skills on decorative paint effects and interior styling with experience gained from designing sets for photography.
This developed into a full hands-on approach, designing and making all manner of soft furnishings and even learning polished plaster techniques which naturally led to interior design! Securing commissions from private clients as a specialist decorator and continuing to work with advertising agencies as a set designer and stylist for photo shoots, Elaine set up her own design business in 1995.

Walk interior architecture & design is a Hampshire based company set up in 1995, providing over twenty-five years of creative expertise and problem-solving. Encompassing interior architecture, structural layouts and interior & exterior design guidance for renovations, new-builds, extensions and open-plan living.
We evaluate internal layouts, fully considering all aspects of the decoration, furniture, flooring, lighting and window treatments, providing creative and practical solutions. We're occasionally asked to be involved with small commercial projects as can offer unbiased and less generic design direction which some re-fit contractors sway towards.
We take a comprehensive look at the whole space and focus on the relationships between individual items and all the materials used in the finishing decorative details, as well as larger areas that require more problem solving, such as improved storage and lighting.

Including several private dental practices with ideas to upgrade the reception & waiting rooms to the more welcoming and contemporary areas expected of today's clientele! As well as design concepts for a themed bar/venue inside an old listed bank, a number of small cafes/restaurants & bars, an independent estate agent, financial advisors and other small offices & studios.
