We had a lovely stay for my mums 60th, the cottage was fantastic and the owners very helpful. Relaxing time had by all and we would love to come back again. A beautiful environment on site. A perfect place for the rest and relaxation we needed or for a family with lots of things for young people to do without encroaching on the privacy of others.

I would give no stars if I could. Beware of booking this place. Our much anticipated weekend away cancelled with less than 36 hours notice. We had booked through holiday cottages but the manager of the accommodation contacted us direct for a refund. Because the booking agent were not aware of the cancellation by the manager, they were unable to assist in securing alternative accommodation. The accommodation manager was then uncontactable. Ended up having to take a refund, a weekend away for 6 that took considerable planning completely ruined.

The cottage had been beautifully decorated although a little tired looking. The reason for my one star review was the cleanliness of the cottage. Despite some minor irrigation’s toaster broken, bathroom radiator not working and shower leaked which were sorted accept for the leak. The place was not clean please see photos of bathroom below and mould by the windows. I did ask for a clean 3 days into our holiday and was told it would be done but when we left a week later no one had been in to give the place a thorough clean. I could have taken more pictures of the dirty dustpan and brush etc etc

We stayed here, at the Shephards Huts, as we are getting married at the Wedding Barn in March. Thoroughly enjoyed the stay in the huts and wished we stayed an extra night - they are very cosy, and warm with the log burner going. There's some nice local walks to do, and also two decent pubs nearby for something to drink. Phone signal is a bit hit and miss in the Shepherds huts, so its a nice getaway from your phone as they don't have wifi in the huts - only in the main stay accommodation. Overall really enjoyed and will definitely come back.

It was a last minute change of plan to come here, however the best decision ever this place is breathtaking. Would like to try everyone of the different accommodation that they have there. The cottage we had did have a hot tub but the Scandinavian Style and I wasn't sure till the lads got the fire on and it warmed up . Oh dear lord it was heaven. The entire weekend was just amazing. If I wasn't already married this would be the place to do it absolutely 1st class . Most definitely tell all and will return xx
