Services
Character Cottages was founded in 2011 to create a distinctive, high quality holiday lettings business. Our focus is on fabulous country homes in beautiful towns and villages, throughout the Cotswolds. Each holiday home has an abundance of character to make your holiday even more special. As our name implies, we limit ourselves to properties that exude character - exposed beams, period features, open fireplaces and breathtaking views.
Blockley is a popular village in the Cotswolds which is found within a triangle formed by three renowned market towns: Chipping Campden to the North, Moreton-in-Marsh to the South East and Stow-on-the-Wold to the South. Being close to these three towns has led to increased footfall in the village, bringing with it good quality pubs and a lovely village shop/caf.
The attractive market town of Cirencester is the largest town in the Cotswold District. It is the home of the Royal Agricultural University, the oldest agricultural college in the English-speaking world, founded in 1840. Cirencester was known to be an important early Roman area, when it was called Corinium, and the town's Corinium Museum is well known for its extensive Roman collection.
Longborough is a beautiful village of Cotswold stone cottages, set away from busy roads on a hill slope, which looks east over the lovely Evenlode Valley. The village is two miles north of the famous market town of Stow-on-the-Wold, three miles south-west of Moreton-in-Marsh, and sits on the Heart of England Way.
In medieval times Nailsworth was a settlement at the confluence of the Avening Valley and the Woodchester Valley, on the Nailsworth Stream. Among many notable medieval buildings in the area are Chavenage House and Rodmarton Manor. More recently, Nailsworth was a small mill town and centre for brewing (the town now has the largest number of working water wheels per square mile in the country).

Character Cottages have some lovely properties but dealing with them left a very bag taste in my mouth after they sneakily increased the price on a rental which I had already paid for but had to cancel and immediately rebook (my Airbnb account was linked to the incorrect bankcard). I got in touch with them before cancelling on Airbnb so they had an opportunity to let me know that there would be an increase but chose not to. They said the first quote I got was a mistake and that they couldn't rebook me at the same price - surely I should have been told that before I went ahead with the cancelling

One of the best getaways we've ever had! The Cottage was perfect, just what my partner and I wanted for a romantic break. The staff at Character Cottages were very friendly and the booking process was hassle free! I would highly recommend their services.
