Services
Artistic Engineering produce high-quality 3D & 2D routed products and components in a range of woods, MDF, plastics, acrylics and metals. Our workshop houses our specialist CNC Large format Flatbed Router which is computer controlled to enable us to make a wide range of precision products in both large and small quantities.
We can accept nearly all forms of Cad/Cam files from Autocad engineering files to Signmaking PLT, AI, EPS and CDR files. With our years of experience in file conversion we can easily help you convert your files to an acceptable format. If on the other hand you require us to originate files then we can provide CAD design for you too.
Ordering is as straight forward as possible. We've already mentioned email, but we also have our general enquiry form. Simply fill out some details of who you are & how to contact you together with details of your enquiry and any files you would like to send and hit the submit button. As soon as your enquiry is received we will contact you to let you know we have received it, then follow through with a quotation.
In the majority of cases we normally source the correct materials for your order, however we are also happy to accept your materials if you wish to source them yourself. Please bear in mind, though, that routing really is an engineering art, which means to achieve the desired finish, tests cuts are a necessity.
CNC stands for Computer Numerically Controlled. This technology gives speed and precision to cutting parts. Metalworking machine tool builders developed CNC technology in the 1950's for the US Air Force and it has been serving the metal industry for many years.
Thanks to recent technological advances in both the hardware and software, CNC routers are now accessable to other industries and can be used for a massive range of products including cabinet making, design or inlay work in solid surface materials, carving three dimensional surfaces, milling mouldings, and sign making to name just a few.
