Service is so slow and you have to make a fuss to get any food which is awkward. Quality of food great but us and other tables waiting an hour to be served. Appreciate staff shortages but limit your bookings if can’t cope. Will be going back To the Royal Raj as better value and staff are spot on. Shame as this place used to be good.

Such a NYE let down. Ordered food to collect at 7.30pm. Arrived before 7.30pm and had to join a queue through the car park which took an hour just to get to the door of the restaurant, then once inside there… was another 20 confused people waiting for their food in utter chaos. Finally got our food at 9.30pm. No apologies from staff, no communication and no sense of urgency about them at all. Very disappointed as I hate leaving negative reviews for independent businesses but it was completely unacceptable service.

New Year's Eve chaos....ordered food at 6pm, arrived to collect at 7.30pm. Ended up queueing over 2hours waiting for food. Not a single apology. Very rude, poor service, last of organisation. I'm amazed a well… established restaurant could get takeaways so wrong. Will never use again, not when there's so many great alternatives locally.

I’m not sure why there are so many bad reviews, we visit here one a year on our anniversary and we always leave happy. We are happy with the food quality and the service, some of the waiters don’t speak much but they are always polite. I personally don’t want to exchange more than pleasantries when I dine out as I’m spending time with the people… I’m there with. I honestly don’t know what people are comparing this place to, but we like it and will continue to visit every year. The restaurant itself is beautifully decorated (in my opinion) and the service

Very slow service, staff weren't very friendly at all and very disappointed with the food. Staff wearing masks under their nose or on their chin, watched 2 tables be wiped with same cloth and no antibacterial spray 🙈 Unfortunately not a great experience wouldn't return in a hurry much prefer the Winterbourne Raj.

This is my favourite India in the North Bristol area. Food is excellent and portion sizes more than sufficient. Until the last visit, where the portion size was reduced to that of a normal human being, the Butter Chicken was enough for 2...and I come from a family of big eaters. Staff very friendly and decor very smart and it has its own off street free parking. It is a little more expensive than other local Indians but it's worth it for that special night out.

The Taj for me is the best indian in Bristol, now that's a bold statement !
This restaurant can become busy so I advise booking for a meal, especially if large parties. There is a car park but at times this becomes full so parking is available along the main road.
The decor is great, really modern for an indian restaurant but that's what I like. Some really great touches inside.
The staff are great at making you feel welcome, showing you to your table and offering drinks etc. My only fault was the service of food, took some time but the food was worth the wait.

This is probably my favourite Indian around. The food is delicious and the portions sizes are very generous.
The decor of the restaurant is lovely, it's really modern with nice lighting & the staff are extremely helpful. They have a seated waiting area with complementary Bombay mix if you are waiting for a table or for a takeaway.
The prices are a little pricier than some other Indian restaurants but I think it's better to pay a bit more for tastier food.
I have never experienced a bad meal when eating in the restaurant but on a couple of occasions have been a little disappointed
