So many sparkly things!!
I love the vintage feel shopping experience at the argyle arcade. The doormen, the lights and quaint shop signs. Beyond the feel there are a good range of shops catering to all budgets but I doubt that you will manage to not be distracted by the super pricey, sparkly diamonds on offer!

Who does not like the argyle arcade??? I know it's just a corridor full of jewellers, but it seems to have so much more to it than just being a short cut from one street to another or a place to shelter from the rain. I'm pretty sure there can't be many folk who don't love it!
For me it just seems packed with history. It clearly must also be rammed with memories for many people as they buy that special watch or pick out that once in the life time ring ..... Or perhaps take it back to try and sell it agin.
I can remember walking through it as a kid over 30 years ago and do

I love the argyll arcade - its one of those glasgow institutions and i hope its here for many more years to come.
When in town with friends i will always suggest "cutting through" the arcade but really its not a short cut as I cant help but stop at every jewellers on the way past dreaming about what the perfect engagement and wedding rings would be for me. I have expensive tastes :)
I would love to see more of what goes on upstairs as there is 7 floors to this place.
The doormen are simply devine and always so cheery and take the time to say hello!

Walking through here is like walking back in time. It's bring, airy & full of beautiful jewellery shops.
Upstairs (there is a lift on the Buchanan St side) there are offices & even more exclusive shops. Today the top floors were opened for an exhibition which was wonderful & they even opened up the roof so we could wander out & enjoy the panoramic views of Glasgow.

The Argyll Arcade is one place in Glasgow that has the reek of awesomeness about it. If you had to take a visitor to Glasgow somewhere to demonstrate the higher end of the shopping range that our fair city has, this would be it.
It's jewellery, jewellery as far as the eye can see, and then some more. It has the feel of expensive tastes, vintage gold and silver, and just makes you put your hands in your pockets in case you accidentally knock something over and then have to become a cat to get nine lives to earn enough to pay for the damage.
Or maybe I'm just paranoid.
But, if you want

This is the place you go in to if you're shopping for an engagement ring, a fancy watch, or just fancy getting out of the rain for a bit without actually having to go in to a store. I've done two out of the three listed, and have had incredible experiences thus far.
I always feel so under dressed when I walk through here but always managed to get approached by friendly sales people who work at the shops within Argyll Arcade asking if I need help. I even managed to impress one lady by pointing out an American jewelry company that is sold at one of the shops here. Apparently it&apos

What a sparkling treat for your eyes!! I had to keep my sunglasses on because I was so blinded by the millions of shining diamonds radiating their beauty at me. This little alleyway reminded me of something straight out of a Harry Potter movie, only instead of wands made out of Phoenix hair, there are only diamonds and other pretty jewelry. One thing is for sure, this place puts NYC's diamond district to shame.

One of my favourite shortcuts in Glasgow, and what an expensive shortcut it is!
Argyll Arcade is jam packed full of jewellers and only jewellers, ranging from cute and quirky to chic and damn expensive, and everything in between. I often wander through drooling on the glass windows at the sparkly, shiny diamonds whilst watching rich couples swanning by arm in arm with little bags filled with jewels. Not fair!
I actually make a point of walking through here so that I can see one particular piece of jewellery that I will buy when I make my first proper wage (make that a years wages) It is a white

Over the years I have accumulated a database of techniques that can guarantee an argument with your spouse so strong that you can make sly inroads towards breaking up.
I'm not a bad person, just a coward.
One is watching the film Clerks (trust me) and another, more absorbing experience is a stroll through here. Conversations inevitably turn towards engagement and marriage and raaaa!
It can be quite fun though, in the right company, just laughing at how expensive some of the jewellery is.

I'm not a fan of jewellery, watches or expensive accessories but if I ever find myself in nevereverland and need to buy a wedding or engagement ring then I think I could rely on Argyll Arcade as being my one stop shop for all that bling.
There are shops for all budgets, whether you're looking for a swish designer watch or just a small thank you gift.
It's all about sales, sales, sales in here so watch out for staff members pouncing on you at the door!

The Argyle Arcade is a lovely long lane of jewellers, with a glass ceiling and shiny tiled flooring that screams luxury and money. There are rows of pretty windows with all kinds of jewellery inside, from the tacky and brassy to the prettiest of pearls.
It always makes me smile when I see the top hat wearing security guards, as I imagine them chasing thieves, holding their hats on in an English bobby style.

Oh. My. God. The Argyll Arcade is amazing. Filled with seemingly hundreds of jewellery shops, I can lose an hour or three just looking in all the windows. Of course, part of the fun of browsing through here is the people watching. The Argyll Arcade is surely the best place to go in Glasgow if you are shopping for an engagement ring - and so there are always a good number of couples in the arcade doing just that (which is always nice to watch!)
Even though many of the units are filled with modern and contemporary jewellery stores - somehow stepping into the Argyll Arcade takes you back in time

Walking through here is (aside from a shelter from the harsh winter - and summer - weather) like entering a haven of jewels! The hustle and bustle of Buchanan Street and Argyle Street fizzles out here and there are just a few passers-by strolling through in the search for something special.
That's what makes it so endearing. Most people actually shopping here (as opposed to passing through) are seeking a special gift to mark a memorable occasion.
My own mum and dad picked out there engagement rings here. Awwww.

I've always liked the Argyle Arcade. Partly due to my mum regaling the story of when she went shopping here with my dad for her engagement ring back in the 70s. Mostly however, because it provides a rain-free short cut from Buchannan Street to Argyle Street.
The Argyle Arcade (Scotland's oldest shopping centre, apparently) is renowned for its jewellery shops. Whether you're looking for a watch, bracelet, cufflinks or a ring, there is something here for your taste and budget. And yep, you wont have to get wet in between shops :-)

Need an engagement ring? New watch? A pair of earrings? A silver rattle? This place has everything. Home to a number of jewellers, the arcade is lined by beautiful items, catering for most budgets, although generally the more money, the more choice you will have, funnily enough.
It's a brilliant place to wander through/glare in envy at those who are actually shopping here, whether it be the white-haired, pashmina clad silver fox, or the bolshy fiancee demanding the platinum diamond encrusted earrings to match her new platinum ring.

This is a small mall containing jewellery, and only jewellery. Host to over 30 jewellery shops, if Argyll Arcade doesn't have it, then you are to fussy and need to get a grip of your life.
Pushy, obsessive girlfriends drag sweating, shifty-eyed boyfriends around here and coo in an innocent-but-underlyingly-persuasive manner at gigantic engagement rings.
You can find everything in here, from traditional gold and antiques, to modern gems by contemporary designers. The walls and ceiling sparkle with the reflected light of a million facets - most people can only afford to browse.
