Services
Both cottages were converted from the local stone-built stables and are "topsy-turvy", in that the bedroom and shower room / WC are on the ground floor and the kitchen, dining and living areas on the first floor. They are provided with a gas hob, electric oven, fridge with coolbox, microwave, toaster, kettle and general utensils, cutlery and crockery, plus a Freeview TV / DVD.
Breakfast is served in The Cornmill itself. We normally serve breakfast between 7.45 and 9am, but can provide an earlier start if needed. Breakfast consists of cereal, fruit and fruit juices, a total of 9 items on the cooked breakfast menu to choose from, toast, crumpets and tea, coffee and hot chocolate.
Kirkbymoorside is at the centre of an area that encompasses the North Yorkshire Moors National Park (including Heartbeat Country) to the North, the Yorkshire Coastline - including Whitby, Robin Hood's Bay and Scarborough - to the East, Castle Howard and York to the South and Thirsk and Herriot Country to the West.

The Cornmill was my wife and I's wedding suite. It was the perfect size for us and our groomsmen and partners. Beautiful place, oozing quality, breakfast cooked to order. You can tell a lot of time and commitment goes into making it a special little place worth being very proud of. Thank you Karen and Chris! Clwyd and Alex x

The location is beautiful and teaming with wildlife. The hotel is fascinating and they have done an excellent job converting the mill, maintaining interesting features and lots of personality. Lots of wardrobe space and good mirrors in the comfortable, inviting bedroom. Breakfast is delicious and cooked to order with great coffee. The deep bath feels very luxurious and the beds are heavenly. The hotel is well maintained and the owners are very nice and very helpful. A pleasure to stay at and would highly recommend.

Stayed here for one night, the owners Karen and Chris were so pleasant and they knew lots of recommendations for where to eat and what places to visit when we left the next morning.
The room was gorgeous and had a lovely en-suite.
Breakfast the next morning was in
the old mill part of the B and B which had a quirky feature of the old wheel water source.
We will definitely consider this establishment if in the area again.
Superb house and hosts.

I have enjoyed several stays at the cornmill whilst working in the area. Each of the bedrooms are spacious, clean and tidy with classic style bedrooms and modern ensuite bathrooms. Karen and her husband the owners of the cornmill always meet you with a friendly welcome and are happy to assist where they can. In the morning there is a generous breakfast to start your day providing a selection of cereal and juices followed by cooked breakfast of your choosing. In terms of the location, the cornmill is situated on a quiet residential street approx 10 minutes walk from the town centre so is in easy

A repeat visit after visiting for the last 3/4 years. This time for our honeymoon, The Cornmill is amazing as always and feels like our home away from home. Karen & Chris are excellent hosts and very responsive if you have any queries about your stay or knowledge about the local area. Cooked breakfast in the morning is a must I highly recommend the black pudding!. This time we spent 4 nights in room 5 which we chose last year as our room for our honeymoon. Due to another booking at the end of the week we moved over to the self catering stable where we had not stayed before. I can easily say the
