The Crown At Turners Hill sits in the heart of Turners Hill overlooking the village green, was once known as Canons Farm, part of the manor of Wakehurst. This 16th Century farmhouse with it's 17th Century barn ~ still retaining its Jacobean oak beams ~ was converted to an inn in 1706. It's long history includes tales of a secret passage to The Old Manse, and priest hole.
The Crown At Turners Hill is proud of it's extensive menu of traditional English dishes, with the emphasis on home cooked fresh local produce. Complimented by a select range of wines and an ever changing choice of local and regional ales; which is reinforced by our three Beer festivals: Spring, Summer and Autumn (The Big One!).
At The Crown Turners Hill we stock an ever changing choice of local Sussex and regional ales, accompanied by a range of Lagers and Ciders. Our choice of local and regional ales is reinforced by our now famous, three Beer festivals: Spring, Summer and Autumn (The Big One!). The Bar is furnished both in a traditional way: bar stools, chairs and tables, and in a more relaxed lounge style.

Went in at about 3pm for a light meal and told food service stopped at 3pm despite pub being very busy. After all the Covid restrictions, how can any establishment be turning away business on a Saturday afternoon? They will be the ones crying if we go into another lockdown. Others walked in soon after us and were obviously told the same as we saw them in another establishment a few miles down the road.
Very poor☹

I'm gutted I didn't take a picture, the food looked good and tasted delicious! The member of staff that served us was great! He knew all his specials for the day and answered all our daft questions.
The surroundings were lovely, lots of well-behaved dogs came to visit and the toilets were in great condition 👍

The Staff here Aidan and Andy (if I remember correctly) were so so lovely. They had a problem with the systems so everything had to be done by hand but they didn't stress and was no problem.
Food was delicious, didnt leave a morsel from either the Chicken and Ham pie or the Chocolate Brownie. Really great portions, super tasty. I would defo recommend and return for some very decent pub grub.
