In the event that your home or let property becomes unoccupied for an extended period of time (normally 30 consecutive days), standard buildings insurance may not cover the property. Specialist Unoccupied property insurance can cover your property against a range of risks, including fire, lightning, explosion and vandalism.

I am currently trying to deal with their claims department which is handled by third party Davies Group. The staff are not proactive. They never call back. I am doing all the chasing. I am asked questions which only a psychic could answer. The staff come across like they've lost the will to live and really can't be bothered and couldn't care less. So the moral of the story is, no point in having cheap insurance if you get absolutely no response or help if you need to make a claim!

Magnet seemed good value, I have some issues around my property that need clarification from the underwriters, one year they were totally happy and gave me cover, this year they totally refused me cover on grounds irrelevant to my property, but exactly the same points as previous year when they were happy with the situation. Very disappointed in their lack of consistency

Absolutely disgraceful company. This is just a broker and will expect you the purchaser of the insurance policy to chase any tradesmen needed for repairs yourself!! They won't even communicate between the tradespeople they want you to use. Ie, plumber and repair service but insist on passing out many different phone numbers. We have had to chase reports etc.
I have never had such poor service and definitely won't ever use them again!!

This is the second year that I've been with Magnet and the service has been good every time that I've spoken to an advisor, my renewal was cheaper than last year so what made me happy.
The person I spoke with was lovely and went out their way to help me.
Ive never made a claim so don't know how easy the process is but I assume it would be fine based on their service before.

Difficult to review an insurance company unless you have made a claim. They seem good and have good reviews. I always try calling customer services before buying insurance, just to see how quickly they answer. They answered straight away and were very helpful. UK based customer services.
