At the foot of Glen Strathfarrar, close to Glen Affric and only 20 miles from the City of Inverness - The Cnoc Hotel is the perfect retreat for fishers, walkers of all types, birdwatchers (osprey, golden eagle and red kite can all be seen locally), golfers and cyclists. The Cnoc Hotel welcomes you. Book a stay in our Highland Countryside Hotel and explore the local landscape from one of our cosy ensuite rooms. We have seven bedrooms, all with En-suite bath or shower, tea/coffee making facilities, hair dryer, radio alarm, and an internal telephone system. Our family rooms consist of a double and two singles and the tariff for families is based on children under 12 sharing with parents.
Our award winning Restaurant provides excellent meals with freshly prepared local produce. Food served all day every day. Due to its popularity it is advisable to book in advance. Our food is always presented to a high standard. Our local staff, all from within a 10 mile radius, are smartly dressed in black and white and have a strong knowledge of the dishes they serve; what it is, where it has come from and how it's cooked.
Whatever type of walking routes you enjoy, from a short stroll with the kids to a trek through wilderness areas, our location offers many options and the opportunity to experience our stunning scenery, wonderful wildlife and captivating culture. The Loch Ness area is a fantastic place for walking, and caters for all abilities.
Our location is ideal for visiting guests to enjoy unrivaled outdoor experiences set amidst some of the most breathtaking terrain in Great Britain. Locally there are several Sporting Estates with experienced Game Keepers and Stalkers who will guide you during your day. Here you can embrace the challenge of stalking and shooting in the Highlands of Scotland, a memory that will last forever.
Our location here in the Highlands is the perfect base for those wishing to spend time viewing an amazing selection of birds here in a stunning natural habitat, it is no surprise to see Red Kites and Ospreys from your hotel window. Ornithologists return to us year on year to study some great and indeed rare species of birds such as Peregrin Falcons, Crested Tits, Ptarmigan and even the Golden Eagle.

This is a lovely hotel the rooms were very comfortable and we were made to feel very welcome, we particularly liked the menu choices too.

We enjoyed a starter of haggis with a drambuie and cream sauce followed by a delicious seafood platter, steak pie and sweet and sour chicken so our compliments go to the chef ...but unfortunately, not to our host. We were given a warm greeting initially but his tone and attitude changed, maybe due to a misunderstanding with the order of one of our main courses which he responded to with a sullen look, but whatever the reason a patronising tone and rude responses continued until the end of the meal: he was walking away as we asked a question about the desserts, his description of the cheeses on
