Many of our customers have expressed an interest in the story of the rise from the ruins of the Poltimore Inn, as this now thriving pub was virtually derelict when the current owners took it over. The entire process of buying the Poltimore Inn to opening was lengthy and the story is well worth recording.
The Poltimore Inn is proud of its team, virtually all living in either North or South Molton and a more dedicated team would be difficult to find. The Poltimore Inn has three chefs and one desert chef, all herald from the local community. Our bar tenders and waitresses all benefit from flexible employment in the pub and the Poltimore Inn is incredibly proud of the team.

Visited this pub for a Sunday roast we was extremely disappointed. Walked in to be met by a lot of loud locals by the bar , waited to be served to be seated as we prebooked but didn’t need to as we was the only ones eating . Ordered the food which we only had the choice of pork or beef . The meat was very dry and on the cold side it all tasted microwaved NOT FRESH ! The potatoes were hard , dry and tasteless . The Yorkshire pudding was also over cooked and very dry on top so 100% tasted microwaved. The gravy was like water and had little taste of meat juices . Me and my husband left a lot on

Picked this pub as a dinner stop after reading the reviews, only one word can describe it, "fabulous". A nice friendly welcome for drinks followed by getting shown to our table to view the menu. A good selection available and should have something for everyone. I opted for the local steak pie and wasn't disappointed, huge chunks or meat and delicious gravy in a lovely pastry case. We didn't opt for any of the deserts as to be honest we were full after the mains. Will definitely be back...

Beautifull location, close to attractions and a local shop and petrol station.
Lovely food at the poltimore inn and frienfly staff.
Only downside is a bit of a slope down to the huts if you are staying in one its a bit of a trek with luggage
We found the bed hard and hut was not sound proof we had very noisy neigbours at the time we stayed as the doors were slamming and could hear everything.
But really nice huts and well maintained.

Great pub, lovely food, and a lovely location. Well worth a visit. We stayed in one of the lodges, which are lovely, would recommend that a mirror be placed near to a plug socket, we ended removing the full length mirror and using it propped up near the window. The shower room is brilliant, however the base of the shower tray is lethal, a non slip mat is an absolute must.
