We provide legal services to both individual clients and businesses. All of our services are available from each of our offices in Saffron Walden, Haverhill and Sawston. Home visits can also be arranged. Each of our practice areas is headed by a partner leading a team of highly trained solicitors, legal executives and support staff.

The firm's origins go back to 1834 when our premises in Saffron Walden were first used as a Solicitor's practice. With such a long and established reputation to live up to, everyone at Adams Harrison is fully committed to putting their expertise and experience at your disposal. In 1834 Joseph Collin rented number 16 Church Street in Saffron Walden and began practising as a Solicitor.

We understand business decisions can be difficult at times, particularly when they involve people (your staff). We will guide you through the process, offering legal and practical solutions that we will assist you to implement. From recruitment to termination we can guide you through the intricacies of employment law in this country.
We have been advising farmers and looking after their legal affairs for over 170 years and there is not much we do not know about farmers and their legal requirements. Our rural business team is headed by Partner Rhodri Rees (property) and includes Melanie Pratlett (wills, tax and succession) and Jennifer Carpenter (dispute resolution).
The practice has considerable experience in dealing with the acquisition and disposal of a wide range of leasehold and freehold commercial property either as standalone transactions or as part of business acquisitions or disposals.

The practice represents both landowners and developers negotiating options and collaboration agreements as well as the setting up of freehold or leasehold residential or commercial development sites, including the drafting and negotiation of planning and infrastructure agreements. Our clients include farmers, property developers, investment purchasers, owner managers of small businesses and other individuals or incorporated businesses.
We offer a full litigation service, aiming to achieve the best possible results for our clients. We take a constructive approach and are always aware of the costs of pursuing or defending an action through the courts. We will fully investigate your case, establish the facts, and assess the risks - including the costs - and will advise you on the options available.

Excellent Professional Service
This solicitors’ practice was approached for help just three days before Christmas. I was greatly impressed with the prompt, kind, sympathetic, professional response and service which resulted.
From the initial telephone communication and interaction with the friendly personal assistant, to the thorough knowledgeable advice of the solicitor, Jennifer who ensured the best possible outcome on my behalf.
Sincere appreciation is extended to this law practice for your passionate, caring, and brilliant work which was provided at a reasonable cost.

Could have cost another 2k if id stayed with them which would have been totally unnecessary, lack of knowledge when it comes to selling a house in 2 names where power of attorney is involved, was told i needed court of protection which was totally incorrect, causing unnecessary delays and stress. Fortunately suspected i was given incorrect information and with better advice went elsewhere which proved correct thing to do, Even court of protection said i didn't need them so no excuse for incompetence or after extra money?? look elsewhere .

Tracy and Michelle were absolutely fantastic dealing with a house sale and purchase for us recently(despite it being quite a tricky transaction!). They were always on the ball, extremely organised and kept us updated all the way along. I would very highly recommend them as being by far the best in Haverhill. Thank you so much!
