Andrew Grove & Co Solicitors have been based in Cambridge for over 30 years. The firm started in 1982 as a small, general practice dealing with conveyancing, family law and general litigation, has steadily developed into an abuse civil litigation specialist practice. Andrew Grove & Co have been involved in this field since 1996 ever since a client came forward to talk of their treatment at a local children's home.
As well as being a Solicitor with over 30 years practising experience in both Australia and England, Andrew Grove is a trained and qualified Social Worker who spent 11 years in a local authority Social Services Department. Andrew is therefore uniquely placed to advise clients who may have suffered abuse whilst in local authority care or at the hands of family members, friends or strangers.
Andrew Grove and Co. have successfully claimed compensation for childhood victims of sexual and physical abuse. The main focus of the practice is abuse law, and our wealth of abuse experience spanning over 15 years enables us to deal with claims effectively and efficiently. We have managed group actions against Local Authorities containing in excess of 100 clients.
It applies to both recent and historic cases where a child was placed with foster carers by a Local Authority. This is a huge development in our area of work and Andrew Grove and Co. welcome this decision. The ruling makes it significantly easier for those abused by foster carers to make a claim for compensation against the Local Authority and ultimately hold them to account.
After the first step of making contact, we arrange a meeting with our client in order to introduce ourselves, our firm and to outline the process in detail. We then take a civil witness statement and this could require a few meetings and telephone calls depending on the exact circumstances of the case.
