Our business was originally formed in 1985 and in 2007 we became a member firm of the Institute of Chartered Accountants. In 1995 we set up a Contractor payment service, expanding rapidly to cover the whole of the UK. In 2007 this evolved into our Monthly Contractor accountancy service.
We have worked with thousands of Contractors in all industries providing a service which allows our Contractors to see a monthly prediction of taxes they will have to pay, and how much money they can safely take from their Company.We also serve small businesses mainly in Swindon and the West Country.

Our teams work closely together to ensure the best service to our clients. We have two departments, one for Small Businesses and the other for Contractors and Freelancers. The leaders in each department are experts in their own right with many years' experience in helping clients and their teams.

At AMS we provide our staff with in-house training and also support them to qualify professionally. The context of how we work with our colleagues is to provide in-company training to build an understanding of the many processes across the company before specialising in a particular field or department.

We are a block management company situated in Swindon, managing numerous sites around the country. We have been trading for over 34yrs using the same accountant, until the summer of 2021.
It was then that with regret we had to change accountants. We had to move over 90 accounts to new accountants in one go and expect them to cope and also take on board all the complexities of the businesses that goes with block management.
Despite this being a huge ask, AMS Accountancy and all their staff stepped up to the challenge, took charge of all the outstanding issues, made sure all accounts were filed

Initially a very good accountant and was recommended for smaller businesses but things have got very slow over the last two years. They are not a proactive accountant so don't ever expect to hear from them other than when they need to do your end of year books. They take forever to prepare your end of year and you have to chase them a lot. We have moved to a sole trader accountant now who is proactive and actually helps us save money. They are a nice team just not value for money from our experience.
