Anne Thomas represented me for the past 2.5 years in a family case and I can't say enough good things. Anne really takes the time/effort to understand the situation so she can represent you in the best way so her fees are extremely reasonable. One thing that initially stood out to me from the practice was how she personally answered the phone right away (when other law firms would ring out, or you would always have to leave a message for a lawyer to call you back - annoying)! Was recommended Caroline from Setfords by a friend and she was absolutely AMAZING. Responsive, swift and knowledgeable with my best interests in mind especially as a first time buyer with everything being new. Do not use these solicitors. After the initial sales contact, they did not respond for 4 weeks, despite me trying to contact them. When finally able to contact the solicitor had no knowledge of my case (as the previous chain of emails from me and my estate agent clearly hadn't been read). After the initial contact when I finally got through to them it was clear that there were a lot of hidden fees and some fees in the quote had been lowered to get the business. The solicitor did not know anything about Lifetime ISAs and I had to explain this to them. Choosing Setfords was a very expensive mistake

Contacted Setfords to carry out a simple transfer of equity where I was being bought out by my ex partner. The consultant solicitor, Luciana Ispani, was from the start very combative and rude. She made the process extremely long winded and created issues which almost resulted in the transaction falling through. I would not recommend this solicitor or Setfords in general. If you must use Setfords, please avoid this incompetent solicitor.

Been meaning to write a review since dealing with them some time back. On a Conveyancing matter, the woman was shockingly bad. Dreadful in fact. Constantly muddled my case up with someone else, never quite knew who she was talking to on the 'phone and, at one stage, sent me an extract from the Land Registry and asked me what it was. Think I knew more about conveyancing than she did. Got so fed up with it, I complained and asked for my case to be passed to someone more competent and was totally ignored. It was a horrible experience with Mr Wilkes The firm treats potential clients like “underlying” to make money. They don’t really care about the client unless they see a way they can make money out of u. Not responsive at all unless there is something in there for them. It’s about their “perfect client” - a case they can make money on quick and straight. Not so much about the carrying out justice or treating people in the right way. Would not recommend.
