Son of the firm's founder, Charles Birt, Giles joined the family business in 1988 and took over as Principal following Charles' retirement in 2000. Giles has a degree in Urban Estate Management, and is a Professional Associate of The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors. He was born in Tenby.
Apart from his school and college years - and a stint working in Bristol with a London-based commercial surveying practice - Giles has lived in the famous seaside town.Outside of work, Giles' interests include skiing, mountaineering, cycling and most activities that involve being outdoors. He has climbed Mont Blanc and Kilimanjaro, and has recently completed an expedition in Nepal, climbing three 6000+ metre peaks!.
