Claudios restaurant has been a mainstay of quality Italian cuisine in Moffat since 1996 when Claudio & Florence Capriglione decided to open the restaurant. Quality and consistency have been the hallmarks of the business ever since. Claudios stays true to the small family run ethics set out by Claudio himself, using only the finest locally grown produce wherever possible.
The restaurant is now run by two of their children Davide & Claudia. Davide runs the front of house operations whilst Claudia prepares the food to the same recipes as her father did before her. The fabulous food at Claudios is accompanied by an extensive wine list which complements the authentic rustic flavours perfectly.

We booked a table last minute on a busy September weekend and they didn’t the best to accommodate us. The fillet steaks were cooked to perfection and better than most of the steak restaurants we have visited in Edinburgh and glasgow. The staff were lovely, efficient and a mine of info when discussing things to do in the area. I can’t recommend this place enough. It has made our holiday weekend even better.

Super efficient and friendly staff, steaks were cooked to perfection and better than some we have had in steak restaurants in Edinburgh and Glasgow. Kids meals were thoroughly enjoyed. Very reasonably priced… for the high quality of the food served. Would highly recommend and may even visit the area again just to have another visit here.

Nice food but AWFUL service!
We waited for a good while with dirty plates infront of us, asked for the pudding menu, waited another age and the pudding menu didn't arrive. In the end it was too late for our little ones to have pudding so we had to leave with out puddings and with a very upset 5 year old.

Well this was our first time at this restraunt and I can safely say I will be back. We only had a main course which was fillet steak with Diane sauce, it was absolutely delicious. I only gave 4 stars as I don't think the steak was rested enough as there was quite a bit of juices running when I cut into it!! Can honestly say it was one of the best steaks and tastiest Diane sauce I've ever had. The place itself was clean, pleasant and welcoming and the waiting staff were very helpful and friendly. I happily recommend a wee visit to this place although a wee bit dearer than some it was well worth
