The Great Tythe Farm
Nestled in the Cotswolds and within walking distance of the historic market town of Tetbury, lies The Great Tythe Barn, surrounded by former farm buildings, now transformed into a stunning wedding venue with accommodation for up to 90 guests. Within the grounds, and based around a central Courtyard, are 10 self-catering cottages, 12 Bed and Breakfast rooms, and the picturesque Tythe House.

Perfect for family and friends to relax and enjoy the celebrations! Sympathetically restored, this historic Tythe barn retains many of its original features such as exposed stone walls and wooden oak beams whilst incorporating 21st Century comforts such as under floor heating, tastefully decorated washrooms, wooden flooring, atmospheric lighting and tall glass entrance doors to allow plenty of natural light and views of the courtyard.
Services
Colonel Mungo Park Benton (the current Mr B's father!) bought Folly Farm for 7,000 which was abandoned and in bad repair due to it being a tenanted farm. As a Colonel in the Horse Artillery, he needed land to turn the gun horses away for the holidays.

When he left the army, he converted the courtyard and buildings surrounding (the cottages we know today) into stables to enable him to have 60 high class hunters in the Winter from London, and 60 polo horses in the Summer. The Colonel suffered with repeated bouts of pneumonia, Doctors suggested he went abroad to a hot country and so left to Southern Rhodesia (now Zimbabwe) and they let the Farm to Sir Peter Grant Lawson.
When planning a wedding, you will want everything to be perfect and the food on the day plays a massive part! Our amazing caterers will provide menus to exceed your expectations and even help create a bespoke menu to suit your style. Whether it be a traditional 3 course Wedding Breakfast, Barbeque or Hog Roast, there is something for everyone!
Here at the Great Tythe Barn we always try to give you an all-inclusive price as we don't believe in hidden charges. The barn is available from 9am until 2.00am - please contact the office for additional charges. Use of our standard 5ft round tables, any tables for a cake, formal top table etc and chairs*.
We offer Bed & Continental Breakfast within our Bedlodge and separate Breakfast room overlooking the Main House lawns between 8.30am and 9.30am. Our 12 en-suite Bed and Breakfast rooms are located across the courtyard from The Great Tythe Barn, ideal for staying overnight after a wedding or party allowing you to really enjoy the celebrations!
Located around the central courtyard of The Great Tythe Barn, 10 Cotswold stone cottages provide accommodation for a total of 48 guests. When they were converted from period farm buildings, we ensured to keep lots of the buildings character and have named them reflective of their origins. Please contact our team through our contact form for pricing and availability.

Beautiful scenery, location is fab but sadly it has become a conveyor belt for weddings. I feel for the brides as they don't have time to set up their day ....For the cost of it all, it should be booked out for 1 wedding per weekend. Must pack in as many weddings as possible.

Lovely setting for events, unobtrusive Covid-safe catering plus comfy beds and good communal areas. Staff are there when you need them, but let you do your thing. A short break which felt longer and more restful... loved the piggies.

Tythe Barn its self is a beautiful building. Staff completely on the ball, polite and attentive. I was there for a wedding and whilst I didn't stay in their accommodation friends and family members did. By their account the accommodation could be a lot lot better. Reports of mould and gaps in the walls that they could see through to next room amongst other things.
