Mullen Stoker is a chartered accountancy and IT firm based in Durham, servicing a diverse portfolio of businesses across the country. Our ethos is simple: to utilise the vast experience and expertise of our team to provide a first class service to every client we support alongside a personal touch that is often missing in our sector.

Mullen Stoker provides accountancy services including tax returns, bookkeeping, payroll and auditing and compliance, as well as a dedicated rural expert who works with businesses within this industry. We also deliver specialist IT support including the development of hardware and software packages, remote working solutions, cyber security and bespoke programming and databases.

Mullen Stoker Chartered Accountants was born by Neil Mullen FCCA ACA and Gary Stoker BSc MBCS along with several highly qualified and experienced staff who had all previously worked together, most for over a decade.The following information is provided in accordance with the disclosure requirements of the Provision of Services Regulations 2009 and guidelines provided by the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW).
Making Tax Digital is HMRC's move to digitise tax. 89% of those businesses who submit today, will change the way they process tax. Recent research has shown that moving to digital accounting software saves small-medium sized businesses 17,000 annually.
Visits of a minimum of 4 times per year. Depending the clients individual wants and needs we aim to see our business clients a minimum of 4 times a year. In these meetings we can discuss how everything is going and highlight areas of possible improvement or caution. We can also advise on any legislation changes that make effect you now or in the future.
We appreciate that filling in a tax return can be confusing, stressful and frustrating and we are happy to take all of these stresses away. We will complete the form on your behalf and guide you through self assessment ensuring that you are compliant with the submission of your tax return and other relevant forms.

I received an overpayment (double payment) from Mullen Stoker Chartered Accountants. After receiving a letter and voice mail while I was on holiday I repaid them the overpayment. I had to sort this out on my own time, which was very inconvenient. I would be concerned about using an accountant that has problems managing payments.
