Nutmeg is a vibrant, independent Indian restaurant based in Clifton Village, Bristol. Our menu is inspired by the diversity of India and its 29 states, which stretch from the pulse regions of the Himalayas in the north, to the spice and seafood abundance of tropical south India. Nutmeg was founded in 2016 by Raja Munuswamy and Arvind Pawar who met whilst working in restaurants in Bristol.
They were drawn together through their love and passion for their home country and its food, and a desire to share it with the city they've come to see as home. To us, the best way to serve and celebrate Indian dishes is to use the highest quality ingredients which we source from a range of independent local suppliers.

Fantastic evening celebrating my daughter’s 22nd birthday. They went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect. The food was really delicious over a wide range of dishes along with impeccable service. The six of us had an amazing time. A huge thank you to the whole team at Nutmeg-we will be back soon and have already told the few people in Bristol who haven’t been to Nutmeg to book as soon as possible!

Delicious Indian food! we wanted to try this place after loving Nadu (an Sri Lankan restaurant in Stokes Croft with the same owner). It has not let us down. The menu is not huge but the everything we did was cooked beautifully.
We ordered onion bhajis as starter... very yummy! and then paneer saagwala and yakhani gosht with basmati rice and plain naan (best naan I've ever tried!)

We visited as a family of four on a Sunday evening. It was very busy, but nevertheless the staff were the right sort of attentive - not too much nor too little. I particularly liked that they replenished our jug of water whenever it was empty without having to be asked. The food was delicious but...(there is always a but)...there was very little lamb/beef/chicken/fish in each dish. My lamb dish had about 6 pieces of lamb, swimming in loads of sauce. And while I don't like places that obviously over-do portion size, this was more at the other extreme. Overall an enjoyable evening.

5/5! Fantastic, friendly and knowledgeable staff and delicious food. Prawn curry (main)was excellent, and so were all the starters. They have also an appealing selection of wine and craft beers. The place is in a good location and nicely decorated. We went there in a group of 5 and had to wait ca 20 minutes -so good to make a booking in advance. WE definitely enjoyed it.
