First established as a coaching inn in the 1600s, The George Hotel is encompassed in history and unique character. This boutique-style hotel reflects the heritage of Pangbourne as the interior is inspired by 'The Wind in the Willows' by late local author Kenneth Graham. We love to spoil for choice so we offer a wide array of drinking and dining options!
Set in a 17th-century coaching inn, the traditional charm of the hotel is entwined with modern facilities as our boutique-style rooms offer en-suite bathrooms, free Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs with cable channels, and tea & coffee making facilities. The building is historic and listed, therefore, the rooms have a character reflecting the nature of the building and its history.
The Village Bar, situated at the face of the hotel, reflects the heritage of picturesque Pangbourne within its amiable interior. The bar offers a growing selection of real ales, fine wines, and assorted spirits. Furthermore, the pub-style food menu provides a range of dishes, largely cooked with locally-sourced ingredients.

Nice hotel and pub/bar that i used for the latter. Black painted beams make it an attractive building at the front and it is in a nice location in the middle of pangbourne village very close to the tennis club i play at sometimes.
The waitress was really nice and friendly and smiled which is always a good start! I sat in the pub garden at the back in the sun and it was a very relaxing place!
