Based in the heart of the South West in Somerset, Metrics Engineering are engineers who have gained an excellent reputation for being a trustworthy, family run business providing high precision components for various industries for 40+ years. Metrics Engineering Co Ltd are sub-contract precision engineers, providing high quality machined components taking you from design right through production to packaging.
The lathes are also fitted with Hyrdafeed bar feeders allowing increased automation of the lathe. With these features combined we are reducing cycle times up to 30%. The CMZ TA machines are rigidly built for accuracy and durability allowing us to work within very tight tolerances and maintain consistency throughout.
Our Japanese made SHIGIYA GPH-20 cylindrical grinder allows us to grind components within a very tight tolerance meeting the customer's specifications. The grinder is capable of diameters up to 200mm and 500mm in length with an extremely good finish. A unique conversational programming system makes tedious learning of CNC language unnecessary therefore saving a lot of time.
Understanding that time can be an issue, here at Metrics we can help you by offering a fast response to your prototypes overcoming any pre-production requirements. Allowing us to offer this service enables us to establish the most cost effective way of producing your parts in large volumes.

Metrics is home to 2 automatic band saws which are capable of cutting alloys, mild steel, stainless steels in various sections, tube and solids as well as aluminum profiles, solid plastic, and other non-ferrous materials. Having this service available to us means we can accept materials in different forms and process it as required.
