Harriet's introduction to the harp was far from conventional: she first began lessons in Oman in the Middle East, where fishing wire proved a suitable replacement for any broken harp strings!3000 miles later, she was awarded a place at the Junior Department of the Royal College of Music under the tuition of Daphne Boden.

Do I need to feed you? If your booking is over 2 hours long, I normally appreciate some simple refreshments - a sandwich is fine! What are your set times? If the booking is over one hour long, I will usually take some breaks (it is not very good for the back to sit at the harp for more than an hour at once!).
Harriet has over fifteen years of experience teaching the harp to all ages and ability levels. She teaches both pedal and lever harps and has both at her home in Battersea, South West London, so there is no need to bring your harp with you to lessons!
Harriet is a highly respected teacher who in addition to maintaining a busy private studio, coaches the LRAM course at the Royal Academy of Music and teaches regularly at the Junior Department of the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.

Music is of course one of the key components for any event; it sets the tone, a feeling, and will form the ‘soundtrack’ for your memories moving forward, which is why I couldn’t be more grateful to have met Harriet and had the privilege of having her perform at my wedding last year.
Having watched a number of excerpts and samples of her performances online, I was in no doubt that Harriet was exceptionally talented, however as we got to know one another and explore my options and interests when it came it music, I was truly blown away. Not only did Harriet have an extraordinary repertoire

I found Harriet by chance at a wedding fair. As soon as I heard her play, I fell in love and knew that she has to be part of our special day. She was incredibly friendly, professional and listened to what we wanted. During the ceremony the guests were surprised and all commented on how having her play, made our day even more magical. She was worth every penny. I would highly reccomend her.

It’s amazing how some beautiful harp playing can transform the atmosphere for such a special occasion! Harriet’s music welcomed our guests into the ceremony and played our favourite songs for the entrance / exit, and she then set up outside to play during the reception drinks. Her repertoire had a great mix of classical and modern and we had many compliments from our guests. Harriet’s music was an integral part of our ceremony and we’d highly recommend her to make any occasion that little bit more special. Thanks Harriet!

Harriet was wonderful! All communications with her were efficient and very helpful. She arrived on the day and set up her stunning harp with no fuss and, having agreed with my daughter what was to be played, did so beautifully. Her contribution to the occasion was very special and I have no hesitation in recommending her to anyone who wants the lovely addition of live music at their occasion.

For four years now, our daughter has had weekly lessons with Harriet. Harriet is an absolutely outstanding teacher, who is extremely knowledgeable and dedicated to her work. Not only are her lessons of a very high quality, but she also directs her students towards a more performance aspect of harp playing. You can count on her to strongly encourage your child to go the extra mile and she will always lead her students to the very best of their abilities. We strongly recommend Harriet to anyone. Myriam

Harriet played her harp for us at our wedding last Thursday 31st August and she was brilliant. The harp sounded beautiful and really gave our rustic barn wedding the romantic feel we were after. Harriet is really nice and easy to get on with and has a large repertoire of songs to choose from. Thank you Harriet for making our wedding ceremony that extra bit special. xx
