Originally formed by Mr Ray Andrews, the 'Midtherm Group' has grown steadily over the years and consists of Midtherm Engineering Ltd, Midtherm Flue Systems Ltd, Midtherm Powder Coating Ltd, Midtherm Laser Ltd and Midtherm Stainless Ltd, all manufacturing products here in the UK. Midtherm Engineering Ltd have been successfully designing and installing flue systems for over 30 years.
Our product range is constantly being updated, and includes flues, masts, chimneys, commercial canopy systems, natural ventilation systems and our newest product Furanflex composite liners. Based in the West Midlands, Managing Director John Walsh and Contracts Director Denny Walker lead our team of highly trained and experienced engineers, managing projects throughout the UK and overseas.

Services
Our diverse range enables us to undertake projects ranging from conventional flue installations, to specialist free standing chimneys, masts and flue dilution systems. At Midtherm Engineering we have decades of successful design and installation behind us, establishing us as market leaders. During this time we have proven that there is no challenge presented that can't be overcome by our design team, thanks to our vast knowledge of engineering.
A flue dilution system is normally installed where difficulties are encountered in the provision of a conventional flue to above roof level. However, regulations recommend flue dilution systems are not installed on systems with a combined net heat input greater than 2MW. These systems are designed on the principle of diluting the vented products of combustion sufficiently to reduce the CO2 content to the required level of below one per cent.
The Combivent terminal provides combined high and low level ventilation for plant rooms devoid of an external wall, or where mechanical ventilation is undesirable. Designed to allow the vertical discharge of flue gases through a roof mounted unit, the Combivent terminal is fitted with louvres on all sides providing ventilation, in accordance with regulations.
Furanflex composite liners are glass-fibre reinforced thermosetting resin type liners, which are corrosive resistant and have no joints. All lining systems consist of an air tight tube made of a composite material that is flexible in its uncured form, which can traverse chimneys and ductwork with small openings, offsets or other awkward shapes, such as those within listed buildings, town houses in central London, and hotels.
We regularly carry out CCTV camera surveys of existing flues and chimneys. This is an invaluable aid when looking to either re-use an existing flue system, or install a new liner in an existing chimney stack. The survey is generally carried out prior to the tender process, and therefore we are usually employed either directly by the client, or their consultant.
