At Castlebawn Dental Practice we want you to understand all about your teeth, how to keep them healthy and your options when you need to treat them. Many of our patients are concerned not only with their smile, but with lines that can appear on their face over time. Our aesthetic clinicians will provide a full consultation.

Most people have fillings of one sort or another but today, because we are much more conscious of our smile, we can choose a natural looking alternative - the composite or tooth-coloured filling. Millions of adults are embarrassed or self-conscious about their smile due to misaligned or crooked teeth.

Most people have fillings of one sort or another but today, because we are much more conscious of our smile, we can choose a natural looking alternative - the composite or tooth-coloured filling. A crown is a cap that is placed over a tooth and held in place by dental adhesive or cement.

As a protective cover for badly decayed teeth or fractured teeth as a permanent restoration for teeth with large fillings to correct minor problems in natural teeth like spacing and irregular shape or severe discolouration.Although a bridge may seem costly they can be a wise investment that will give many years of good service.
Most people have fillings of one sort or another but today, because we are much more conscious of our smile, we can choose a natural looking alternative - the composite or tooth-coloured filling. A composite resin is a tooth-coloured plastic mixture filled with glass (silicon dioxide) first introduced in the 1960s.
Dental amalgam is the traditional silver-coloured filling we are all familiar with. Although there is mercury in dental amalgam, once it is combined with the other materials in the amalgam filling its chemical nature is changed rendering it harmless.

Research into the safety of dental amalgam has been carried out for over a century and to date, no trustworthy controlled studies have found a connection between amalgam fillings and any medical problem.Amalgam fillings are the only type of filling provided through the NHS, composite fillings are considered to be 'cosmetic' and therefore must be paid for.
A dental implant is an artificial root replacement that is used to support one or more false teeth. Usually, tooth implants replace missing teeth which have been removed due to injury, disease or decay. It is usually more comfortable than a dental plate or crown and so implants are becoming very popular.

Lovely staff, friendly & welcoming.
Karin Lyons my dentist puts me right at ease, I am a very nervous patient. Karin talks me through everything step by step and always asks if I'm ok. Couldn't ask for better ☺️

I have had a few recent problems that caused a lot of pain and had to go see a different girl, she was lovely and amazing. I have a complete fear of going to the dentist, but I go to a girl called catriona (sorry if spelt wrong) she is by far the best dentist I have ever had... She makes me not hate the dentist! She is lovely, caring, professional and makes me feel at ease. Today she had to extract the tooth that was causing bother and she listens... I always need extra numbing and she now does this before I even say. I had a tooth extracted before and it was horrendous, I never thought for a second

Very misleading reviews on here as most people I have spoken to have had an abysmal experience with Castlebawn. The dentist who tended to me the last time I visited didn't know how to do/find the dental mold on system (which I specifically went in for) and then proceeded to clean my teeth like it was the first time she had ever done it, jumping back and forth, which was painful and unnerving. My partner had a tooth out and got a dry socket due to 2 of the dentists overuse of force. He had to have 4 days off work. My hairdressers partner had the exact same experience with a tooth extraction. Both

Thought this was a very welcoming practice when first arrived but after only scheduling a few appointments I found them to be a nightmare. Nearly every appointment my partner and I made was re-scheduled last minute or they would text through wrong dates of appointments. Did not try to get me booked in sooner than 2 weeks after they cancelled my appointment last minute, even when I was having toothache problems. Clearly do not take into consideration if emergencies do occur to leave spaces to fit in patients. Very disappointed.
