Since being 10 years old, I have dreamed of being a dentist. When my Mum took me to the dentist, I knew it was a career that combined a love of science, working with my hands, artistry, and working with people. In 1992, I moved from Felixstowe in Suffolk to Liverpool to study dentistry. Five years later I qualified and started my career in dentistry in North Wales.
Here at Maycroft Dental Practice, we appreciate how difficult it can be taking the first steps in tackling dental fears and phobias. Our Team of professionals pride themselves on making the whole process and experience as easy as possible. Dental Anxiety is a reaction to an unknown danger.
Anxiety is extremely common, and most people experience some degree of dental anxiety especially if they're about to have something done which they've never experienced before.Basically, it's a fear of the unknown. Dental Fear is a reaction to a known danger ("I know what the dentist is going to do, been there, done that - I'm scared!"), which involves a fight-or-flight response when confronted with the threatening stimulus.

Our Dentists are caring and friendly, we are also trained in various distraction techniques, commonly use tell-show-do, and explain the whole process. Your Child will be kept well informed of the procedure, and if they wish us to stop at any given time for whatever reason, we will. Let's face it, none of us really love going to the dentist - especially our children.
When you have a missing tooth, it affects the way you chew, eat, and can look odd when you smile. These gaps can also cause the other teeth to move into the empty space, resulting in a bad bite. Dental bridges are the right solution in such a situation. There are different types of materials from which bridges are made.
