The first room we were given was smaller than what we had booked and had a damp issue. Went to
reception to be asked to move, when asked why I explained about the damp to which the person behind the desk said - Oh the damp in the window
corner? They clearly knew there was damp but had still given us the room. The second room was better although it had a broken blind which wasn't apparent until the morning when the light came through. The
remote didn't work however the night porter was helpful and corrected this. We woke to a real overwhelming smell of sewerage in the morning. It
was vile and

Well worth a stay. Had a family room and although it wasn’t on the sea front it was still perfect for us. Food and drink can be pricey but you don’t have to eat in, great little bar with sky sports for the football .Superb location right on sea front next to the grand pier and free parking 👍🏻

The Staff were extremely helpful, very friendly, nothing too much trouble. Our bedroom, in fact, the whole Hotel, is gently shabby, in need of TLC. The linens however are clean and plentiful, tea and coffee not so much! The food was well cooked and allergies heeded well. Looking forward to a return booking in the future.

Sadly we never stayed to eat this time. After our visit on Sunday we decided to book a table outside to celebrate our Wedding Anniversary. When we arrived for our reservation we were told to sit anywhere (there was no reserved table and it was very busy) and were told with people, or away from them. We said we wanted to sit as far away from people as possible (high-risk) however once we were seated it was so windy that we had to move closer to the sheltered area to avoid the menu blowing away. At this point it felt uncomfortable and we resorted to putting our masks on. When the waitress saw we

We popped in here for a meal yesterday - 2 adults (1 vegetarian), 2 teenagers, 2 dogs. The staff were very friendly and accommodating and we were able to sit inside with the dogs. Service was great, the food was lovely and the prices were reasonable. We would definitely recommend the York Hotel as somewhere to eat (especially if you have dogs) 🙂

This is a lovely hotel to have a meal. Plenty of outdoor undercover seating and seating indoors. Good selection of wines, beers and cocktails. Prices reasonable for a hotel and considering its on the seafront. We had a special deal on a Thursday night only 2 steaks and a bottle of wine for only £24.95. It was excellent value for money. Would highly recommend.Customer service was also very good.

We just popped in here for lunch on the terrace. Service was friendly and efficient. We only had baguettes but they were nicely presented with a decent sized salad garnish and coleslaw which was very tasty. We went in to the hotel to use the toilet facilities only but they were nice and clean.
