The Still & West

The views from this restaurant on the first floor across the harbour are amazing, the food is reasonably priced and is good quality. Would highly recommend a visit for the views alone, good food and beer is an added bonus. In the summer it is great to be able to sit out side and watch all the boats and ships going by.

An amazing view for a decent price. You can sit and watch the boats go by in the bay while you have absolutely delightful food. Our waiter Henry was extremely courteous--he gave great recommendations, was attentive when appropriate, and gave us space to enjoy the meal as well. He helped make the experience just that much more top notch, I really felt I was in a fancier restaurant between the atmosphere, the waiter's eye for detail, and the well-cooked food. The seabass with fennel salad was incredible--perfectly cooked fish, a generous portion of lime, and the salad had a lovely complex flavor

Very nice pub, right on the harbour sea front. Staff were really friendly. Very good choice of drinks. Prices are high. Over £12 for two pints. The pub on the other side of the road is considerably cheaper and also nice.

Very nice place on the harbours edge in Old Portsmouth. Food and service excellent and very reasonably priced.

We had a lovely family lunch here after a dip in the sea. We love the fact that you can just watch the world (and ferries) go by. Lovely seating inside and out and a good menu to choose from. We had Mushrooms on toasted brioche, a poached egg and hollandaise sauce, and the gorgeous burgers. Lovely friendly staff too. Well worth a visit!

Fantastic pub in the old town. Great views overlooking the bay. It’s a Fullers pub, it was so clean and the food was amazing. They have a great selection of beers and wines. A lovely beer garden, and some great seething inside over looking the bay.

Serves was good and friendly, food good, nice clean atmosphere.... Not much selection for desert if you have a nut allergy and there is a door that keeps banging.... The hot drinks were not hot enough for my liking....

A great pub with the most stunning outdoor seating area. Sat and enjoyed a pint listening to the waves hitting the rocks next to us. Friendly staff.

Firstly, purely for location, drink and the Team, I would give this place 5 stars easily. It has to be one of the best locations in Portsmouth. What a view!! I can’t think of a better place to have a Beer. (Other than back home in Cornwall).
However, the food slightly let it down.
I had a Burger, it was good, but in this day and age, Burgers can easily be made epic and it was just ordinary. The “Secret Sauce” essentially a cross between American Mustard and Mayo with a subtle hint of Spice. I just felt it could be better for nearly £15. Food is delicious and fresh. Great flavor. I got the baked sea trout, herb crusted new potatoes, samphire, cockle butter sauce. Mmm £16.50. Good view, place was a bit cold, although it was freezing outside. Was hoping to warm up... That didn't happen.

Great view from this location, a favourite amongst boaters. A very decent fish and chips, possibly the best in Portsmouth. If you're looking for a good pint, pub meal and a cracking spot for people-watching, the Still & West is your place in Pompey!

Went here on a recommendation from a British Royal Navy officer. He described it as a more historical venue than really a pub. I rode a bike from the north side of Portsmouth on a mission to find the pub and have a tall pint. Compared to the US, I was surprised at how easy it was to ride a bike to the pub. Once getting there I immediately understood what the British Officer was describing to me. He told me that as Admiral Nelson's fleet was leaving Portsmouth, townspeople were waving to them from the pub. Now that is history. Lovely family pub. Lovely setting in Old Portsmouth. Had a wonderful fish lunch with family and friends. Staff was corteus and attentive. No rush to get you out of the door. You can sit outside but the veranda on the first floor is just as nice. The view is lovely.

Having a Lager after a busy day at Portsmouth University. Fantastic view across the harbour at night. Good service at the bar.
