All crane hire companies work to the terms and conditions of the CPA (Construction Plant Hire Association) and in accordance with BS7121 ("The Safe Use of Cranes"). When hiring a crane from Millennium Crane Hire you have the option to hire on a CPA Crane Hire or CPA Contract Lift basis.
In accordance with Health and Safety Executive guidelines Millennium Crane Hire can only provide a crane on a CPA Crane Hire basis if the customer provides a qualified and experienced appointed person to plan and take responsibility for the lifting operation.

Under the terms of a standard CPA Crane Hire Agreement, the crane and the operator are the responsibility of the customer once the crane leaves the public highway in order to access site.This includes travel on any access roads in the event that the site is not immediately adjacent to the public highway.

A contract lift should be considered if you have little or no experience with renting a crane or if you would like Millennium Crane Hire to take responsibility for all aspects of planning the lift. Under the terms of a standard CPA contract lift, the crane/equipment, operator and all personnel supplied with the crane, (including the appointed person/crane supervisor) are the responsibility of Millennium Crane Hire.
Recently we were contacted to provide one of our 60 Tonnes cranes for a more unusual job. The client wanted us to transfer a fully developed tree into his new house in the centre of London. After making contact with local council & highway officials for permission to block the road off we completed the task successfully without any undue inconvenience to the local population.

I was doing steels delivery with my own HIAB lorry at the site where millennium cranes were lifting the beams with their crane out of the flatbed directly for the installation. While they were lifting one of the heaviest beams (~1,5t) the slinger didn’t balance it properly and it hit my HIAB bending the hydraulic pipe, leaving few marks and leading to one of the hydraulic telescopes malfunction (leak) they’ve also blown away my LED work-lamps. Together with the slinger, crane operator and site manager we’ve written the accident report and made the pictures of the damages. The next day I’ve
