Sohaib Shafiq qualified in 2005 from Glasgow Caledonian University and with a firm determination to provide high quality eyecare and extensive option of frames, lenses and contact lenses at a local community level at affordable cost. From this, Eyes Optical was born in Scotstoun in 2008. It has inserted itself into the community next to the local GP, Dentists and other local needs.
We can do this on the same day and needs 30 minutes to take effect, and causes near focus blurring for between 8-24 hours. They will be able to see far relatively normally but may be light sensitive. It's a good idea to bring some sunglasses to help any light sensitivity they might feel. Adults over 60 are offered dilation.
We understand that sometimes it's not able to come out and see us. This could be for a variety of reasons, physical or mental health related. If this is the case, we can come out and see you under the NHS, that is, completely free to you. We come equipped to do a full prescription and health check of your eyes and even come with frames to help you choose at the convenience of your own home (or care home, if that's where you stay).
You will see the Optometrist and he will go over the options and discuss with you what the best lenses would be for you. If in stock, we will let you try them that day for 20-30 mins (don't worry, we will put them in your eyes and take them out). If you like them, and we think they suit you, we will get you back a few days later to teach you how to put them in yourself (usually 30-45min appointment).
As well as an eye health check, a sight test might help detect signs of underlying general health conditions, such as diabetes, high cholesterol and high blood pressure. Everyone should have a sight test every two years, or more often if your optometrist recommends it. Eating a healthy, balanced diet reduces your risk of eye disease.

Have had a persisting issue with my eye, the optometrist prescribed drops to get rid of the inflammation - what a relief! I also got a brand new pair of specs and treated myself with prescription sunglasses for upcoming season and they are awesome. Quality lenses for unbeatable prices. Would highly recommend and looking forward for my next visit.
