Stephen Donald Eyewear took the bold move in 1997 to set up a designer spectacle and sunglasses outlet in Nottingham city centre. Our aim was to offer a wide choice of quality eyewear by top designer names and exclusive frame manufacturers. For nearly two decades we have been known for superior spectacles and sunglasses and show attention to detail in everything from spectacle design to finding the lenses that equip your visual needs.
Your Eye Examination will check your eyesight and eyes health. Conditions such as glaucoma, cataracts, diabetic eye disease and high blood pressure can be detected. We have invested in the best modern technology to make sure your eyes are healthy. A puff of air is blown onto the front surface of each eye to measure the pressure inside the eye.
Stephen Donald Eyewear offer the best looking spectacles, but the vision through the lenses is just as important. We use lens manufactures Zeiss, Hoya and Essilor for their excellent optical qualities. Hoya's new 1.74 Bi-aspheric is the world's thinnest and lightest lens for both long and shortsighted prescriptions.
Ocular Coherence Tomography (OCT) is the latest advancement in eyecare imaging. Unlike standard eye imaging equipment, an OCT scan is able to examine the eye below its surface, where serious sight threatening conditions can begin. It's very quick to perform, is completely painless and non-invasive and your results are available instantly, giving both you and ourselves a better view and understanding of your eyes' health.

Nine years ago, due to poor customer service at another (VERY large chain) optician, I decided that - as I was sick of glasses breaking and falling apart - I would invest in Oakleys as my glasses (and prescription sunglasses) of choice.
After visiting multiple optician's I plumped for Stephen-Donald.
Not once in the nine years that I've been buying Oakleys from these guys have I been disappointed.
Outstanding customer service and solid prices mean that I keep coming back and purchasing my glasses from them.

I've just bought a second pair of glasses from Stephen-Donald in Nottingham - I returned following buying my first pair a year ago. In summary, the service I received was excellent on both visits, I got good confident advice, i now have two pairs of glasses that are fit for purpose and lastly, I was not "sold" necessarily expensive glasses.
This last point stands out: when I told them i was looking for reading glasses - they offered me frames that started from the bottom of the price range. I feel like I can trust them.
Overall I'm really pleased and can't recommend them highly enough!

The pre-eye test was awesome & efficient! Anita was possibly the best optician that has ever measured me up! Asked questions and was patient & thorough. Kevin & Ashley in the shop are very, very good. It seems like these guys are actually interested in the customer. Happy to work out what's best for you and no hard sell. Thanks

Always Excellent service, honest, knowledgable and very accommodating. They offer one of the finest selection of frames with many unique brands / looks.
Would recommend to check them out over the generic high street opticians who always seem to be on a sales drive or up sell. Never any pressure from the team, in fact they will all go out of their way to help you find the best fit for you. A real plus is that they also offer simple Direct Debit finance meaning you can easily get top spec frame or lens you might of though were out of reach.
