Gray & Bull is the oldest independent dispensing and ophthalmic opticians in Nottingham. It was established in 1806 and until 1939 went by the name of Gray & Selby. Based on Pelham Street - just off Clumber Street where it meets High Street and at the start of the fashionable Hockley / Lace Market area within the Creative Quarter of Nottingham City Centre.
The practice is located just a few feet before and on the opposite side of The Loxley on Pelham Street, which is a few minutes walk from intu Victoria Centre, intu Broadmarsh, Kings Walk, Friar Lane and around the corner from Bridlesmith Gate, Wheeler Gate, the Flying Horse and the Exchange Arcade.

Great opticians. Service is always professional informative and very knowledgeable on all brands.
Very helpful on choosing frames and getting the right pair . The lenses are something else in my opinion you get what you pay for . Amazing all round service friendly helpful and would not shop anywhere else for glasses .

I have never needed glasses until recently and came into Gray & Bull with a prescription looking for some Moscot glasses. The assistant, Darrell was fantastic in the 3 socially distanced visits I made in-store: helping me try out a number of different frames and finding the ones which would best suit me, explaining the differences between the lenses available for them and finally picking up the finished product.
I left Gray & Bull very satisfied and confident in my purchase and I am very grateful that I decided to shop locally in Nottingham.
Five stars.

TL;DR
I must start on how WONDERFUL the staff are at Gray & Bull; one of the best experiences I have had! All personal, great consultations, relaxed yet honest atmosphere and conversations, and I also liked how there was no pushy or hard-selling (staff don't get commission, so I got the right service).
The atmosphere, including staff, was warm and comfortable, with lots of care given into my needs.
