A firm favourite is the Station Kitchen. This is situated in a converted railway carriage at the platform of the old West Bay Station, they have the loveliest staff there and after a drink in the former waiting room, you are shown to your table in the carriage. Last year we celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary on board.
Services
If a date and time are not available, it means we are either closed or fully booked at that time. We are not currently offering Afternoon Tea, but this may change in the winter. If you have vouchers and you would prefer to use them sooner, then these can be used for lunch or dinner instead. For evenings, we offer an early sitting and a late sitting, hence there being no availability between 6pm and 7pm.

What an absolute gem of a place this is!
I have enviously watched many friends visit the station kitchen over the past few years, and finally managed to get rid of the kids for a night and take the wife out for a birthday treat.
We loved it, really relaxed feel, and first class food...couldn't have been better! We will be back!

Called in here the other weekend on the off chance after a long hike (been before and love it here). It was just before the Saturday evening bookings started to arrive. We had a great welcome and they accommodated us despite being fully booked (it was 4.30pm so probably not something that could normally be done). Fantastic food and a great atmosphere, the staff were especially lovely and attentive and it was a perfect end to a fab day. Canโt wait to visit again to see the new carriage when itโs all done ๐๐

Wonderful meal at The Station Kitchen last Friday. We were met with a big friendly smile. The menu is fab - I went for the mushroom burger which was absolutely amazing with all the 'off the rails' accompaniments. The hand cut chips are fabulous. It was interesting to learn from our waitress the history of the beautiful carriage in which we dined. The decor is delightful both in the carriage and Station house. I look forward to returning soon.

Such a great place for a drink, a lunch or a dinner date in West Bay. We got a table in the old station rather than the wagon and we found it better with kids. The bar is really nice and kids like to look everywhere to watch all the details. Service was good especially the bar man but the rest of the team was quite slow but still so kind. Food is delicious, kids had salmon and scampi with fresh fries and portion were good and quality so much better than what they get from other places in kids menu. We had skate and sole in the special menu and all was delicious.

A very very quirky and lovely dinner out. The train station and carriage restaurant has so many interesting objects packed in to it that you will spend the whole of your meal spotting new things (a few of my favourites attached). The menu is very much aimed at the fish lover but was excellent in range.
The Dover sole is especially tasty. Having never had skate wing before that was a nice new dish to try and it did not disappoint. The duck to start was a nice variation on a classic dish and worked well.
The wine menu is equally well thought out and the Chablis we had went well with our dishes
