Quarried since the 1840's Manor sawn Yorkstone has proven its durability in many of Britain's fine Victorian buildings that are still testament to its strengths today. This particular Yorkstone is a fine grain carboniferous sandstone from the Cretaceous period (65 to 144 million years old). Manor sawn Yorkshire stone or 'Yorkstone' is a popular choice due to the typical 'Yorkstone' colouring.

Ancaster Limestone is quarried near the village of Ancaster in Lincolnshire. Superb service and good prices. They helped us find some reclaimed stone pieces that were just right and then accurately sawed them up whilst we waited and put them in the car with polystyrene between them. They do all sorts of stone cutting. Prices were very reasonable.
