Centre For Young Musicians
At the Centre for Young Musicians we're passionate about music, and so are our students. Many go on to have successful careers in music and the performing arts, or simply have the time of their lives taking their musical ambitions to the next level. Our vibrant Saturday Music School is perfect for young Londoners aged 5-18 years old, to develop their creative and expressive skills.

We are generously supported by The Foundation for Young Musicians, so we can offer bursaries for talented young musicians to fulfil their potential. With more than 90 group performance activities taking place each week, our students don't just learn, they perform; you only have to look at our termly magazine UPBEAT, to see the breadth and diversity.
Services
Since 1970, talented young musicians have come to London's Centre for Young Musicians' Saturday centre for high quality, progressive music training. A division of the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, CYM is focused on providing training in an inclusive, vibrant and stimulating environment. Because we believe in learning from the best, all our teachers are experienced and respected performers working in the music profession.
Are you looking to make music in a fun and supportive environment? With more than 400 students already taking part in a diverse range of programmes on Saturdays, London's Centre for Young Musicians might just be your answer! This year the London Centre for Young Musicians (CYM) is launching an exciting new initiative, Youth Brass!
Performance is at the heart of the Centre's work and there are over ninety ensemble activities each week. These include Choirs, Symphony Orchestra, Wind Band, Chamber Orchestra, Intermediate Orchestra, Tango Band, Dance Band, Jazz Ensembles, Folk Ensembles, Stagecraft, chamber music groups and smaller ensembles within each department.
In addition to the main Saturday Centre the Centre for Young Musicians organises a range of Holiday Courses, which are open to all of London's young musicians regardless of attending CYM during term time. Each year we hold short courses to support students taking Grade 5 theory and GCSE music. Grade 5 theory and GCSE revision days are held in April each year and the Summer course is held in July each year.
Are you CYM Alumni? We'd love to hear about your experience at CYM - whether you are still playing an instrument, if you continued your studies in music, or equally if you are now doing something completely different. You can connect with us on social media via Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and share your CYM story using the hashtag #YoungAtHeart.

I am proud to be the manager for such a positive and inclusive organisation allowing young musicians of all ages and abilities to make music together and develop their skills regardless of their ability to pay!

The high standard and professional approach from the teaching body at CYM. The students are exposed to professional group performances. There are many opportunities to broaden your musical horizons once you start here at CYM.
